Description

Food sensitivities and intolerance are potentially serious problems that can result in sensitive or irritated skin, coat and ear conditions or even gastrointestinal upset. Dogs that have a food sensitivity or intolerance, also called adverse reactions to food, typically experience an abnormal response to the protein in the food. If your dog suffers from adverse reaction to food, it is even more important to feed the right food. Hill's nutritionists and veterinarians developed Prescription Diet z/d clinical nutrition especially formulated to support your dog's skin and food sensitivities. In fact, z/d is clinically proven nutrition to help avoid adverse reactions to food.

My Gibblet loves this product. She was put on Z/D due to sever allergies. Since her diet is limited to Z/D, I have come up with creative ways to turn the canned Z/D dog food into treats for her. 1) I take the food out of the can and cut into cubes. I place the cubes in the food dehydrator and dry it into "good girl treats". I break the Z/D dog treats into pieces and mix them together for extra texture. 2) I mix 1 can of the canned food and 1 can of water in the blender to make a thick "gravy" type liquid. I pour the liquid into small Ziplock containers and freeze them. This gives her a frozen treat. 3) I take a small portion of the "gravy", warm it in the microwave (about 20 sec.) and My Gibblet loves this product. She was put on Z/D due to sever allergies. This food has immediately helped my dog with sensitivities to his stomach, skin and coat. My dog just turned one years old and is a rescue dog found in wilderness. He may always need this food and it works great for his sensitivities and bowel movements. The food does contain lots of fatty acids and high in calories so I make sure we work out, run and play and have your vet monitor how much you feed your dog

  • Great food for sensitive dogs like mine.

Great food for sensitive dogs like mine. Pete's symptoms have been disappearing since he started on the diet. I mix about a tablespoon of the z/d canned with 2-3 tablespoons of warm water then put the z/d dry kibble on top. Pete is a picky eater, he will eat all of his dinner, before Rascal finishes his. also i put his morning pill in a teaspoon.

  • Just ok. My terrier preferrred Royal Canin HP.

My terrier, Grayson ate ZD without any difficultly however his stool was irregular, hard and dry, which tells me that he was dehydrated and constipated. When I switched to RCHP, not only did it help with regulating his bowel movements (his stool was softer and moist) but he was more energized so I’ll stick w/ RCHP for now.

  • Quick ship

    By on

Due to recent changes in my dog's health, his diet has been changed to a prescriptive hypoallergenic diet. Chewy.com has been very helpful with this transition. Prices are lower than my vet can get the product for. They quickly contacted my vet for the RX and shipped super fast. It is very stressful to have a sick dog and this efficient system really is very helpful for both me and my dog.

Found out our 11year old 12 lb poodle mix from Peace of Mind adoption has intestinal inflammation due to digestive issues possibly due to food sensitivity. Has been on this new food regime for almost a month...seems to be working....no emergency vet visits.

  • The only food my dog can eat

    By on

Bernie, our Shih Tzu, has serious food allergies which can result in bloody stools and ear inflamation. After trying a lot of different products, guided by vet recommendations, we found z/d canned dog food the only one that Bernie was able to eat without problems.
