I was surprised to see Hydrolyzed Chicken Liver in the ingredients since chicken is such a common allergy. Is hydrologyzed chicken different or better in some way?
Answer by ChewyNov 19, 2017
The hydrolyzed chicken liver has been broken down into its amino acid components to reduce the chances of it causing an allergic reaction in sensitive dogs.

Can I microwave the dog food?
Answer by ChewyJul 21, 2022
This recipe can be microwaved. Warming the food or adding warm water brings out the aroma and flavor of the food, increasing the appeal to the pet. Warm the canned or dry product to, but not above, body temperature - this can be done by warming for a few (3-5) seconds in the microwave. When microwaving the food, please cover with a microwave safe lid or microwave safe plastic wrap. Before serving the food, it is important to stir the food to ensure there are no hot spots to cause harm to the pet.

A lifesaver

Since starting Z/D our dogs IBD is managed. Finally she can eat a good sized meal without fear it’s just going to make her sick. We’re still navigating things, but this has helped immensely!

First time user

Was told our fur baby has food allergies so she told use to get this food, that was three weeks ago and our girl don’t like the taste of it, still mixing it with her other food, I’m hoping it’s just taking her a little longer to like it

Great addition to diet

My dog has been eating the Z/D hypoallergenic kibble for years and I decided to try the canned version to provide some variety to his strict hypoallergenic diet. My dog instantly loved it and he historically has never liked canned food. Thanks Z/D for all the products to help my dog with his skin allergies.

Hill's ZD Hydrolized wet

Only hydrolized main dog will accept. You want comments, don't give me commands as what to include. Down with tyranny!

Exactly as Described

Ditto to all written reviews. It’s the only food my dog can eat. Her stools are normal and she loves it!

seems to work well

We were using Rayne nutrition crocodile for our highly allergic maltese, and he was doing well BUT they discontinued the wet food AND our vet encouraged us to get our dog off the grain free food. So, we transitioned our little guy to Hill's Z/D wet and dry food and he's doing great! He had been vomiting in the mornings before breakfast when he only had dry food for breakfast and dinner. Now that he's back to Z/D dry food for breakfast and this wet food for dinner, he's doing great. So far so good--been about a month now, and we'll be keeping him on this food for the foreseeable future.

Prescription food

Vet prescribed this for my dog and made his life so much better. He has more energy and less skin issues. His digestion has improved tremendously. And not to mention he likes it.

It grew on him

My dog got to where he couldn't eat anything without stomache pain sneezing itching etc. He hated this at first. It's so thick I have to add water. It reminds me of pureed refried beans lol. But it has grew on him and was the answer he needed to all his health issues. It unfortunately is so expensive, but I'm sure that's not all chewys fault. I have it on auto ship and it got here within 2 days! I was so pleased and will continue ordering from them.
