About Hill's Prescription Diet GI Biome Cat Food

Hill’s GI Biome Diet

Hill’s Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome cat food takes a different approach to digestive care. Each formula uses a specific blend of active fibers, known as ActivBiome+, to help your cat’s stomach break down food more efficiently for healthier stools and to help improve regularity. It also contains Hill’s S+OX Shield ingredients, formulated to promote urinary health.

Healthy Stool in A Jiffy

Hill’s Gastrointestinal Biome promotes stool regularity in as little as 24 hours. Its ActivBiome+ Technology, an exclusive blend of prebiotics, whole grain oats and pumpkin, works with your cat’s unique gut flora to foster balance and better stools.

Activate the Gut Microbiome

When it comes to your kitty’s digestive health, the balance between good and bad bacteria is key. Promoting the growth of good bacteria helps keep problematic bacteria in check and supports digestive well-being.

Know the Signs of Digestive Issues

If you notice vomiting, diarrhea or soft stools, straining, stomach gurgling, flatulence, appetite changes, lethargy or depression in your cat, it may be from digestive trouble. See your vet for more insight and see if changing foods can help.

Risk Factors

Many things can trigger digestive issues, including food sensitivities, inflammation and bacterial, viral or parasite infections. Your vet can help determine what’s causing your kitty’s troubles and figure out how diet may play a role.

When is this product going to be back in stock?! I have 5 cans left and my cat absolutely needs this food. He has an intestinal condition meaning he could go septic if I change his food. This is one of the reasons I use auto ship. Very frustrating
Answer by ErisFeb 22, 2022
I have talked to Hills directly and they say they don't have a date when it will come back in stock. I would talk to your vet about an alternative. I'm sorry about your cat! I get it, mine is the same way and it has been frustrating. It is a manufacturer issue.

Puddles Excellent Diet

It took some time to find the right food for Puddle's very sensitive stomach. Puddle is my cat. He's now 12 years old and after 10 years of really enjoying having this animal in my life, he started having really serious intestinal problems. The vet said that there was no infections, no parasites and he was healthy....but, his poop was not healthy. I tried different cat foods which was easy to access through Chewy. After three or four visits to the vet, it was suggested that I try Hill's Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome...Care which was easy to optain through your website. Even with at times difficulty in getting the correct diet due to supply problems, both you, Chewy, and the vet, Puddle is now thriving. There's no more "messy" poop and Puddle loves his food. I've been with you since Puddle came to live with me. I thank you for always being there.

My cat loves it

I have a 4 yr old male cat who sometimes had blood in his stool. My vet diagnosed him with colitis and recommended food that was easier to digest. I tried giving him different brands of nonprescription wet food, but he hated them all and they looked really dense & bland. When I gave him this, he dove into it and even licked the dish when he was done. This food does look like stew (it’s liquidy) and has chunks of chicken and bits of carrots, and my guy can’t get enough of it. His stool looks great, too—no more tinges of blood. I’m so thankful Chewy carries it.

So expensive

My teenage kitten has had soft stool ever since he started eating solid food. Poop would get stuck to his butt and on his fur (he has long hair) every time he used the litter box, and I would literally have to give him a full bath at least twice a day. I have wasted so much money buying different varieties of food that wouldn’t cause my cat to have a blowout after he ate. Thinking that my cat had a food allergy, my vet prescribed Hill’s GI Biome. Within 24 hours of using it, my cat’s poop turned from mush to solid. He gobbled it up the first time he tried it, but he doesn’t seem to be thrilled about eating it at every meal. I don’t love that this is so expensive, especially when he decides that he doesn’t want to eat it and I end up throwing it away. Thanks to this wet food, along with the Hill’s GI Biome dry food and a probiotic paste that the vet recommended, poop no longer gets stuck to his fur or butt, and I honestly have not had to give my cat a bath since we started using this. My cat and I are much happier, albeit much poorer.

Miracle food

This product works and my cat loves it. Our cat is a rescue and when we got him he had a very bad case of diarrhea. After trying many things, this prescription diet got him on the right tract.

My cat did not think this was so tasty

This food was highly recomended by my vet since my 14 year old cat is having GI issues. He said cats love the taste. My cat will not eat more than a couple of bites and then leaves it.

New recipe?

I think they changed the recipe. My cat used to come running for this, but we just opened the new case and she won't touch it, just sniffs it and gives me a dirty look. She's still enthusiastic about all her other usual food and treats so I don't think it's her. Bummed I spent so much on prescription food I now can't use.

Great product

My Tonkinese cat was having severe digestive issues. My veterinarian recommended the Hill’s Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome wet cat food before prescribing a stronger medicine that could possibly be difficult for my cat to take. This is a game changer and my cat is much better. Also my cat likes the food and this is a plus because cats can be very finicky about their food.

Saved his life

Nothing was working for my cat’s diarrhea - with this food canned and/dry he now has normal stools everyday, My regular vet was not aware of this food - it took my birds vet to suggest trying. Has been eating for over a year now with no additional digestive issues. Stock up as it has been difficult to get at times.

Best for Fraggle

This food is the only one that has helped my elderly rescue with her bowl issues. I tried two other gastrointestinal foods and her stool stayed runny and she was miserable. I have no idea how long she has had the bowl issues all I know is that when she takes this food her stool is solid and she feels so much better.

Finally something works

I have an IBD kitty. She has had diarrhea and been throwing up most of her adult life. I tried everything from Pednisolone, Metronidazole, Slippery Elm, S. boulardii, hydrolyzed food, etc. A vet suggested this food and finally normal poops and no more vomit. Thank God!
