IRIS Portable Hooded Cat Litter Box with Scoop & Handle, Gray, Large

I got this as a backup box when I added a new cat to the household. He was working through some adjustment issues and so was pretty aggressive with his digging and burying behaviors. I had started with an open box, but this was a HUGE help in managing the mess that ensued. I originally thought that I would be able to clean the box through the folding door--THAT was a mess, though, because it was difficult to scoop the clumps of litter without them falling apart. I quickly learned that it was WELL worth the extra few seconds it takes to remove the lid before scooping and then put it back in place afterward. LITERAL seconds... The cover keeps the litter contained, so it is pretty neat. I keep the folding door open, so I can't speak to the functionality of the swinging flap. I wanted to make sure the new cat felt as comfortable as possible using this box. This box actually became the one that BOTH cats started to use as their preferred box.

First of all, I like that this litter box is large enough for one or more cats to use, it keeps the litter inside the pan where it belongs, it is not too heavy to move if we need to and it is also easy for me to scoop out as needed. I also really like that this is made in the USA. I was initially worried that our three 11-week old kittens would not be able to climb in and out of it but they managed. I do think though if they were younger, the sides of this litter box would be a little too high for them to climb in and out of. But this hasn't been an issue for our 5-year-old Benny! So after thoroughly testing this hooded litter pan (without the front door flap), I would say that our kitties have given this product 5 stars! We also agree.
