I have several senior cats who were constantly fighting over a KH heating pad in a cat tree box, so I bought this bed as a second option. It fits perfectly on the cat tree and provides a warm, cozy, enclosed space they love. Buying the house and warmer together was cheaper than purchasing them separately, and I appreciate that it can be taken apart for easy cleaning. The warmer cord feeds neatly through the back, making setup simple. There is plenty of room for my cats, who range from 9-15 pounds. While the heating pad is smaller than a larger KH pad I own, the enclosed space stays more than warm enough indoors. I did remove the hanging toy since it blocked the window view, though one cat enjoyed carrying the ball around. Two minor drawbacks: the bottom is not very padded. I added a small kennel pad under the pet cave, and the soft shell can collapse if another cat jumps on top. Tucking it under the cat tree shelf solved that issue. KH products have consistently held up well for me, both indoors and outdoors. I purchased this on sale, but even at full price it is a solid investment.

I got this for the little tuxedo cat I adopted long ago. She's 18 now and we keep the thermostat low so I worry about her getting chilly. I plugged it in and tested it, it worked great so went decide where to put it. When I came back to get it, she was already in it sound asleep. I don't know that a cat could give a better endorsement than that. And, yes, it's staying on the couch. :)

From our rescue kittens to our seniors, they all love this cozy cave bed. We have machine washed it several times (after removing the heat pad of course) and it still looks great. It's a well made, quality heated pet bed. We purchased several!
