KONGs are easy to keep clean and top-shelf dishwasher safe. Caretakers should regularly examine toys and look for cracks, separations and/or missing pieces. Inspect KONG rubber toys by flexing the rubber when it is dry. Loose pieces larger than a food nugget can be harmful if swallowed so make sure to remove or replace damaged or worn toys.
I ordered this toy because I felt that Miss Lilac would enjoy having to "find" her Temptations treats (where I come from, those treats are also known as Kitty Crack LOL!) which I put inside the ball.
Well, she KNEW they were in there and she pushed the ball just enough for one to come out, but after that, she just gave me that "LOOK" that says, "You only THINK I'm stupid!" Jeez! That's life with a female cat, I suppose.
Anyway, I'm sure this is a great product and that most cats enjoy it, but Miss Lilac was having none of it.
Love this treat ball

I absolutely adore this treat ball. It fits all but my largest of treats (the flavored supplements and cubed freeze dried turkey and cod), which I don't mind because it just means my owner has to get me more toys. It doesn't dispense the treats too fast or too slow and has given me hours of entertainment. It is also easy for my owner to take apart, refill and clean.
Love, Love, Love this!!!

I have 12 cats of my own and I also foster for Carolina Sancuary and Rescue in North Carolina. I have bought more than I can count of the Kong Activity treat ball. My cats love it and beg me to fill this ball. My fosters who have to be kenneled due to sickness or being a new arrival (quarantined for 7-14 days), I will fill this and put it in their kennel and it’s like they forget for the time being they have to be kenneled once they figure it out. I have also put it in gift bags for some of my adopters along with a few bags a treats. The adopters have told me they and their new kitty love this toy and want to know where I get them so they can buy more.
Only downfall of it is it is easily destroyedI have 12 cats of my own and I also foster for Carolina Sancuary and Rescue in North Carolina. I have to make my cat work for her treats and this does the trick. My Kiki loves her treats so I compromised with the vet - less amount and she needs to work for them. Kiki hits the ball all over the house until she gets the last one out.
food falls out too easily; hard for cats to roll
on Sep 11, 2020
The idea with this was to motivate my cats to get some exercise. We put some dry food in, got the cats’ attention, gave it a roll across the floor, and half a dozen pieces of dry food spilled out immediately. The cats ran around gobbling up the food and then waited for us to do it again. We did this a couple of times, but when we tried leaving them alone with the Kong, they gave it one tentative tap, which made it barely move, then walked away when they saw that food didn’t fly out. Not a success for us.

I bought the treat ball 4-5 years ago for my cats and they love it. There is a tube inside the ball that you fill up with treats and then the treats have to fall out of the tube and into the ball, then out the hole. You never know when a treat is going to come out or how many your going to get; will it be one or three treats?!!! It works well both when you fill it up with treats or just adding a few in the tube. My cats are entertained for hours with this and come running when they know its being filled. I recently bought another one so they can have one for their new screen porch. The only bad thing I can say is sometimes I can’t find the ball when they are finished playing with it.
Fun but too easy to get treats
on Sep 2, 2020
My cat enjoys playing with this but it is too easy to get the treats out. Because there are only two chambers the treats come out in very large dumps instead of one by one. Therefore she gets all the treats out very quickly and then she doesn't play with it anymore. It is very easy to clean and fill but because of that it is also very easy for her to get all of her treats very quickly. Might be OK for a more lazy cat but my busy girl gives it one good whack and has all of her treats!
Great way to give treats!

I had two of these before and my two male cats would empty them out every time. Somewhere along the way one of my boys passed away and the Kongs disappeared. Now I still have one of my boys who is 13 now and two youngsters 1 and 2. As soon as Willie saw the big purple Kong he remembered and head butted it all over for his treats. The youngsters were confused no matter how many times I rolled it. Finally my young boy got the drift and now he whacks it with his paw. My female has me trained to roll it for her! They are great but there is a learning curve for some cats so you may need to give it some time.

This item works the way I wanted it to. It slows down my cat and makes him work a little to get his kibble. It does flow out freely once he bats it in the right direction, so I do wish they had a way to slow down the dispensing, but overall I am happy I purchased this.
Okay with one of my cats but not other two

My youngest of three cats is the only one that was able to figure out how to get food from it...after me rolling it for him...he got the hang of it! The only problem is the hole is too big and too much pours out at once....so I blocked off two thirds of it...but think I need to block off more. He emptied it out within a short time...Ha! They need to design it with a smaller hole in my opinion.
