It's alright.

As the headline says, it's alright. The toy isn't round and doesn't roll, so it often ends up with the plastic side face-down and my cat has to sit and swipe it around. He's not much of a "hunter" when it comes to these toys, so maybe it just doesn't work that well for him. I'll be giving this to my sister's cat, who enjoys batting around the toys more than my cat does.

Great for overly-fast eaters!

My one cat, Malfoy, over eats and will eat so fast he throws up. We've tried a few different slow feeders and this is the best one! We've had it for over a year now and he only throws up when he's stolen the other cat's food or has gotten into something he shouldn't have. The one we just bought is a back-up because the first one is on its way out, lol. The opening tab is really loose now (which is a design issue, but not a major one) and it's been stepped on multiple times, so the two parts of the main body don't always stay together anymore.

no more scarf-and-barf

My cat is the scarf-and-barf kind and these mice force him to slow down his eating AND occupy his attention. Sometimes he loses them under the furniture or in a corner, but they have helped keep his weight in control and have a healthy feeding habit.

Obsessed cat

I am no longer the unofficial treat dispenser. This feeder keeps my big boy entertained for hours with the perfect amount of challenge and reward to keep his attention.

This saved my sleep

My cat needed routine of feeding but often ate too fast. Slow feeding puzzles, he solved quick. But now i can fill this and put it down or hide it for every meal (f mice a day). And he spends a long time hunting and i noticed after 2 days he slept through the night finally.

definitely recommend!

Max loved it right out of the box (well, once I added food-LOL) . He was used to having a treat dispenser that required him to bat it around to get his reward, so it wasn’t much of an adjustment. But if you fill it up and follow the instructions I’m sure your kitty will have fun with it, too.

Read the directions! Cat loves it, works great!

This is a wonderful item, that works great. If you read and follow the directions, your cat will become interested in it. We use it in conjunction with an automatic feeder, to eliminate both begging for food, and scarf & barf. If you dont want your cat begging, DO NOT EVER LET THEM SEE YOU REFILL THE FOOD, let them think the feeders magically fill themselves. This dispenser is brilliant, kitty burns a few calories & gets some mental stimulation by batting it around to get treats.

Cat ate rubber-band tail

Horrible product. Cat doesn’t want to hunt a hard piece of plastic. Instead liked the rubber tail and ate it.

Slows my cat's snarfing down

My 9 month old kitten treats this mouse like actual prey, batting it around and picking it up and dropping it from her mouth to force delicious entrails—I mean, kibble out. The slider makes it really easy to fill, and also to modulate the difficulty with which she disembowels her meal. I love feeding her with it as a way to stoke her natural wild cattiness. She can tell at once if it's full or if it's empty and goes after it accordingly.

Game Changer

My 6 year old cat loves these! After reading the description about cats needing to hunt - I haven’t bowl fed our Sushi Cat in over a week! I hide one “mouse” in each room and periodically check them for refills. I’m now having to get creative because he’s finding them so well. It’s keeping him occupied and he’s much more content!!
