Traditional wood shavings do not absorb liquid, making scooping ineffective. And they can be harmful to your pet if ingested. Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter not only absorbs liquid, its wheat grass fibers can be beneficial to small pets' digestive systems if ingested. Made from high-fiber wheat straw compressed into pellets, it is twice as absorbent as newspaper-based litter and longer-lasting than wood shavings. When wet, Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter expands and separates to absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture, making it easier to scoop. Just scoop the wet pellets and flush or toss them in your compost pile. You can also use it as bedding. It is dust-free and guaranteed mite- and insect-free. Plus Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter won't track, easily scatter outside the habitat or stick to your pet's coat.
Key Benefits- Eco-Straw uses special technology to compress high fiber wheat straw into a pellet that is twice as absorbent as newspaper based litter and will absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture.
- When wet, Eco-Straw pellets expand and separate, allowing the wet areas to be scooped on a daily basis. This eliminates waste and the litter will last longer than traditional wood shavings. Easier to clean means less time cleaning cages and more time with your pet. Eco-Straw stays in the cage and litter pan and is not easily kicked or thrown out by active pets
- Natural fiber from the wheat grass plant is not only safe if consumed by your pet, but can be beneficial to the digestive system of rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other plant eating animals.
- Eco-Straw is your ideal choice for a safe, dust free litter or bedding for your pet. It is toilet flushable and beneficial to the soil when composted. Heat treatment of the pellets guarantees that Eco-Straw will be mite and insect free.
- Eco-Straw is cleaner and more hygienic for your pet than wood shavings. Due to the unique characteristics of Eco-Straw the urine will migrate below the surface area thereby moving moisture away from your pet. Eco-Straw will not track or stick to coats of animals with long hair, thus making the owner and pet more content and happy.

bunny litter
By amg1988 on Dec 1, 2020
Purchased to use in my Flemish giant litter box but too expensive for how much I use. Much cheaper to purchase pine horse stall pellets from a farm supply store. But it did work as advertised.

A pretty decent litter
By HolyCannoli20 on Sep 23, 2020
For the most part, the litter is not bad. Our home is odor free and our rabbit, Holy Cannoli, doesn't get any poop or litter stuck to him. The only negative is that the pellets absorb the urine but turns it into like wet sand so I have to chuck the whole litter instead of scooping it out which wastes a lot of litter. The "wet sand" also sticks to the plastic box. So although of course I clean the pan anyway, I guess it's just a little extra gross. The pros is that it does control the smell, it's safe, and it's flushable which is pretty awesome.

Awesome Odor Control Litter
By whatsthehopps on Oct 17, 2020
The traditional oxbow pure blend bedding did not control my bunnies pee smell. It gave out a really strong odor. When I researched on other products I gave the Oxbow Wheat Straw Litter a try and it was life changing. The smell immediately stopped and it also is safe for pets if consumed.

By Isabella on Sep 13, 2020
I purchased these on a different account for my rabbit they were really good overall but sometimes it would get stuck to the bottom of the tray and I would have to use a cleaner to get it off I don't mind though because I would use a cleaner either way! Near the bottom of the bag it is super Dusty!

Eco-straw did not work for my rabbit
By Ladyslipper33 on Jul 14, 2020
I bought this product because it was cheaper than my usual brand. I clean my rabbit’s litter box by hand daily, sometimes twice. I am able to save a lot of pellets this way. Not with this product! It turns to dust and has a huge wet clump overnight. I did not save money with this product. I used WAY more pellets. I am going back to my original brand. I would not recommend this product, especially if your rabbit is indoors. I smelled more urine using it, and it makes a very unsightly litter box, and it doesn’t last very long.

this stuff is amazing!
By oreothebunbun on Jun 23, 2020
I finally found the perfect litter pellets for my bunny! I started out with just using bedding for my bunny’s litter box, I used it for about 2 months..I couldn’t get rid of the smell even though I was cleaning it everyday. So I switched to a different litter box called Purina Breeze Litter box and I used the 3.5 litter pellets that it came with! It says it will last for a month eliminating odor! NOT! Only 1 week later, it turned brown and it still stained the litter box and it still smelled! I found this and it’s perfect! EASY TO CLEAN! NO ODOR and my bunny loves it! Must have! Great price for the size!

This litter is odorless and very absorbent. There is little to no dust. You only need to a small amount for rabbits.
