New shape is too large
By Terre on Jan 6, 2021
Not liking the new shape of these biscuits. They are twice the size and weight of the original biscuits, which I've been ordering for years for my rabbits. Now I have to break them in half twice a day, which is not easy to get exact without a tool but not really a big deal. The new packaging is different and the recipe is slightly different, but they are still organic and the buns still love them, so I'll continue to order them.

Chinchilla Crack!
By Cassy on Jan 8, 2021
First off they are very large pieces and I had to break them in half. My 2 chinchillies (who are very picky) moved so fast to snatch these out of my hands. They then preceeded to scarf them down and then looked around for more! These are the only treats that garner that kind of attention. I originally ordered the small bag but it looks like I need to get a bigger bag.

packaging has changed and other problems too
By Danny on Dec 19, 2020
My Guinea pigs went crazy for this stuff, but when I order them these treats, my guinea pigs were confused & so was I. the packaging had changed and, the formula seemed off. It was hard. The "changed" recipe made it harder for my guinea pigs to bite through so, they'll only eat half. They do not like them. Please bring back the old formula that guinea pigs love. Thank you.

New formula is OK
By Jojo on Nov 17, 2020
I was alarmed when in the last order the packages seemed to have half as many hearts, which also seemed twice as thick as what we were used to. Turns out my bunny loves them - I just have to snap them in half. Also, wrote to Oxbow with some questions. Their response: "Thank you for contacting Oxbow Animal Health with your question. The change in treat shape is a result of an update to the processing equipment (specifically the molds) used to manufacture this product. In addition, we have added in the ingredient “Organic Rice Hull Powder” as an additional fiber source in the treat. These changes were made for regulation purposes, and should not have any effect on palatability or performance. I spoke to our nutritionist on staff, and she let me know the caloric content of the previous treat and this treat have remained the same. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. " I appreciated the response from the OXBOW website. I was surprised though that CHEWY told me to go find answers from oxbow rather than asking oxbow themselves! … more

Why do they ruin something that was perfect?
By Kathy on Dec 19, 2020
These are terrible! I also bought 3 and just started using after running out of the old ones. Our Bun hates them and to be frank they are rock hard and smell bad. They are a completely different formula and if they change them all we will have to find something else. Do not buy if your rabbit loved the old ones. I don’t get it because of shipping and breakage someone wrote and unless their nutrition person is a rabbit that’s where the true test counts. Whether or not the rabbits liked the change! Very disappointing that they ruined a really good quality treat. And our Bun and others will suffer!

new recipe is not good
By mike on Jan 13, 2021
My two guinea pigs LOVED the old recipe it was one of the only treats they like for bedtime. The new recipe they won’t even take from me. Really sad that it’s changed. Would give anything for some of the old bags.

Barley Biscuits
By GreatestGrandma on Jan 11, 2021
for awhile this treat was hard to get with all the pandemic craziness -- so happy can get them wm again for my girls. They love them - noshing on biscuits is a real favorite thing for them to do.

Bunnies love them
By BunnyMom on Nov 24, 2020
These treats must contain crack or something. My bunnies go crazy the minute I touch the bag. I can be on the other side of the house and if I accidentally touch the bag creating the slightest crinkle noise, I have the two of them bolting into the room in a full gallop begging for a biscuit.

Best treats for guinea pigs!
By Rachel on Nov 3, 2020
I have tried so many different kinds of treats for my two guinea pigs, but they're not interested in any of them. BUT, they absolutely love the barley biscuits and refuse anything else. PICKY PIGGIES, but I really don't want to waste more money on treats that they won't eat. I highly recommend these!
