Great for variety
By BigAl on Feb 27, 2021
Knowing you should alternate between Timothy hay and Orchard grass, this solves having to have two different bags. Our Guinea pig prefers Orchard grass, and used to pretty much ignore Timothy hay. But since switching to this mix she's doing a much better job of eating both. Down side: packaging stinks. It has a zip-lock strip that's impossible to use, and sometimes the hay is packed so tight it's next to impossible to pull it out.

Great for picky hay eaters
By bunnylove on Feb 2, 2021
I have a couple of Netherland Dwarf bunnies who are picky hay eaters. I've found that this timothy plus orchard grass hay is their favorite combo. I think they enjoy the variety in taste and texture, which encourages them to eat more. They especially love it when it's fresh and right out of a newly opened package. My buns definitely enjoy this more than standard timothy hay, but I recommend a hay topper (herb sprinkles- my buns prefer Kaytee Food From the Wild Natural Snack). The only thing that I don't like about this hay is that the bottom few inches of the bag is filled with tiny hay shreds that my buns refuse to eat, but I usually stick it in some toys or mix it in with their pellets. Quality is inconsistent
By Inconsistent on Feb 18, 2021
Oxbow blended is my guinea pigs favorite hay. It’s really the only one he loves to eat. It’s obviously easier to get it off Chewy but the quality is very inconsistent. Some bags are great and fresh. Others are brown and dusty. Very frustrating. They always send me a new bag for free when I call and complain which is great but all bags should be fresh and not bad quality. I never have this problem when I buy it from the pet store in person, only online with Chewy!

New packaging is awful
By MNCustomer on Feb 26, 2021
We have used this product for several years, but a few months ago the packaging was changed to be more compressed. Not only is is now almost impossible to get out of the packaging without tearing up the entire bag, the hay is now small, broken pieces. So much is wasted as dust in the bottom of the bag. I am now looking for a new brand to purchase.

Not worth it
By Asinc3 on Feb 2, 2021
I figured since I needed to order dog food that I would also order hay for my piggies. Big mistake. Next time I’ll just swing into a store. This bag was so compressed that it literally hurt to try and get hay out. And the hay is so dry, so it is poking and scratching as you go. I’m mixing it into another fresh bag, hoping to avoid haypokes. I have never had any issues with oxbow until this bag. So disappointed.

Great quality hay!
By Chelsea on Jan 16, 2021
Our bunny loves this hay! The humans love Chewy’s crazy fast shipping and the general consistency with the quality/cut of the hay. Sometimes we’ll be left with lots of left over dusty and tiny bits, but overall it’s a good length. Lots of hay tops too! Not too dusty which is a big plus as our bunny has a history of respiratory issues.

Quality has gone downhill
By Kaybee on Jan 9, 2021
This used to be the best hay. The last several bags are just cram packed with tiny 1-2”, maybe 3”, scraps of hay. Gone are the days where you can reach in and grab a handful of hay. Now it’s more like trying to break up the tiny bits that are crammed in there and pour it out. Makes an even bigger mess AND the last several bags have also been infested with fly larvae. Searching for a new brand.

I wish someone would have verified..
By Oreo on Dec 31, 2020
I was on the autoship and I wish someone would have notified me that I was ordering the wrong bag size of Timothy and orchard hay. I have one dutch bunny who barely eats this hay and I am so upset that this 90oz bag arrived at my door. I wish they would review past and present orders to see if mistakes are made. I thought I was ordering the usual but alas I was not!!! I do not want this huge bag and will not use it!!!

Very dusty
By Dusty on Jan 21, 2021
I always order this brand and haven’t had an issue...however my last 2 bags i bought were all dusty/small pieces. It usually isnt like this. I thought maybe it was just the top of bag but the entire bag was tiny pieces. My rabbits would not eat.

disappointed
By Kim2 on Jan 10, 2021
Oxbow has always had the best hay and my bun loves it. This last bag however, his human doesn’t love at all. Hay is cut very short, and I mean VERY short. But the worst part is how tightly it’s packed into the bag. I struggle SO HARD to tear it out of the bag that my hands ache. It’s ridiculous! I really hope this is a temporary issue.
