Do you recommend keeping the bag open to keep the hay dry?

Hay should be stored in a cool, dry place with good air circulation (don't close it tightly in a plastic bag - a brown paper bag or pillow case works well).

Is this 1st, 2nd or 3rd cutting?

Oxbow will harvest the hay prior to it reaching its maturity stage so it's neither 1st or 2nd Cut.

Is a 90 oz a lot? How big is it?

A 20 ounce bag contains approximately 1.3 pounds, a 40 ounce bag contains approximately 2.5 pounds, and a 90 ounce bag contains approximately 6 pounds.

how long with a 90 ounce bag last a 4lb dwarf rabbit. my holland lop maybe eats close to 24oz a month if that and I wanna make sure I stock up so I'll only have to do auto ship every 5 months.

The longevity of the bag depends on your rabbit's daily eating habits. As most rabbit owners allow their rabbits to have unlimited access to hay the longevity of the bag can vary.

Best hay for our guinea pig.

They love this brand. The Timothy is too thick and dusty and they dont like it as much. The orchard grass mix brings in the whispier strands they eat like spaghetti

Usually, I buy the 9 lb boxes of each hay, and mix myself. But when I'm not feeling like doing so, these are great and convenient. They're just the right size to pretty much fill up my hay bin, too. And my girls are always happy with the product. If for some reason we have any issues with the hay, Chewy or Oxbow are always happy to take care of it. Highly recommend.

Oxbow quality is top notch. The hay is still vivid green and soft. We have had other brands hay, and I don’t know if they just wait too long to bag and sell but those hays are dull, brittle, and our piggies will barely touch them. Oxbow is amazing! It has our guinea pigs squeak of approval!

She likes the orchard grass that is in the mix. Four star for inconsistent quality and bad resealable bag design. Once you open the bag it's impossible to close

She likes the orchard grass that is in the mix. Four star for inconsistent quality and bad resealable bag design. Once you open the bag it's impossible to close it again unless you take a ton of the hay out of the bag. The quality is not the same from batch to batch. Some have more tough thick stems rather than tender stems. Guinea pig does not like the thick stems.

Package left out in the rain.

This is the 3rd time a package has been left at the end of the drive in the rain. A plastic bag would have been helpful to protect the contents of the box.
