About Pet Parents Forager

They were meant to forage

If you don’t have a Forager, your best friend is missing out. Snuffle mats like Forager provide mental exercise and enrichment, and they can help slow down eating for healthier digestion. Help prevent choking, vomiting, bloat, destructive behaviors and more while encouraging your pup’s natural need to forage. Use Forager products as a food bowl replacement, for travel, for stimulation and for fun!

Pet-Safe Materials

Pet Parents’ proprietary SoftSnout material is super soft and non-abrasive on delicate noses, tongues and gums. A great alternative to plastic and other harsh materials, it is safe for your pet to use every day. A durable and breathable outer shell helps Forager retain its shape, while anti-slide backing helps keep Forager in place. All materials are easily washable so you can get out all the food residue for safety, too.

Designed by Pet Parents, for Pet Parents

Perfectly Sized

From Newfies to Yorkies and everyone in between, our snuffle mats can accommodate any sized furbaby. Our 12"x 18" mat was designed for smaller furbabies, and our 19" x 21" is a perfect snuffle mat for large dogs. Each Forager™ bowl is 9" and a perfect on-the-go slow feeder bowl for all breeds.

A Safer Way to Forage

Forager Mats and Bowls can roll or cinch up for easy storage or travel. You can tuck the Forager Bowl drawstring away into its side pocket or secure the Forager Mat strap under the mat for minimal distraction while your pup is foraging, too.

How Can Forager Help?

Brain Engagement

Pets use their noses to solve problems like we use our brains. Forager puzzles reward them with a full tummy!

Calming & Anti-Anxiety

By providing distraction and focus, Forager can help your pet de-stress and help relieve anxiety.

Feeding Motivation

If your pet is picky or uninterested in food, Forager can help motivate and entice him to finish meals.

Exercise Supplement

Whether it's time or the weather, sometimes going on a walk is hard. Forager™ helps spend mental & physical energy.

Different Difficulty Levels

Forager Bowls and Mats offer different difficulty styles and sizes. The Meadow Ponds style is easiest, with colors that make food easy to see and meadows of shorter SoftSnout material to catch more food. The Meadow Natural style is intermediate, with colors that hide food better to mimic an outdoor foraging experience. For the most difficulty, choose the Forest style with no meadows or easy colors. The 12” x 18” mat is easy, while the 19” x 21” mat spreads the food out for a challenge.

Durable, high-quality, easy to clean -- great first snuffle mat!

This is a great first snuffle mat. It's not particularly challenging, and we have since upgraded to a larger and more complex snuffle mat for our very smart Brittany, but we still use this one when we're travelling or in a rush. It's soft but durable, and it washes well (in a mesh laundry bag on delicate!).

Cali loves her new mat! We use this for treats, not for food. She loves searching for her treats and often goes back to it to get more. Really helps her with her natural instincts to forage through grass for treats.

I had one of the round mats for my senior chi and it worked really well so I picked up the square mat for my chowhound minpin to try and slow her down while eating. Within a few washes, the strings on the edges started coming out. It also doesn't do much to slow her down, but she does love to leave her chew treats on it. The cats think it makes a great place to sit.

I would give 4.5 stars if possible because getting the kibble really hidden takes a bit of massaging. My guess is with the loop ones it might fall to the bottom better. But my dog (pit/hound) gets so into sniffing out her kibble and treats it’s worth the extra effort. Also a good size, lots are too small.

The slow feeder did slow my lab down, however after snuffling for the food the feeder was wet, slimy and disgusting. I would wash it after each meal because it just was dirty. If you don’t have a dog who drools and slobbers it might be fine. I went back to the plastic slow feeder instead

I have to wash it all the time because Skyler loves getting his treats in it and he kind of drools a lot. It’s a great buy for the price after Skyler goes to the bathroom outside. He goes to his snuffle rug because he likes me to put things in it for him to hunt.

Even after he went blind, my senior dog would inhale his dog food in under 3 minutes. (He was convinced I was starving him after vet put him on a diet.) This mat keeps his attention for at least 30 minutes. I originally was concerned that he would be confused by it, but the lure of food definitely won out!

My Owen would eat so fast that he would vomit his entire stomach of food back up within minutes of finishing. Now I put a bit of kibble (about 20 pieces) in a shallow bowl so he can munch on that while I sprinkle the remaining kibble across his mat. Stopped the vomiting completely! I'm so happy. Mealtimes are less stressful for us both. The classic "I wish I did this sooner".
