When it comes to household training, turn to something a little more realistic with the Petmaker Indoor Restroom Puppy Potty Trainer. The perfect place for pets to relieve themselves when they can’t go outside, this mat and tray system mimics the real look and feel of grass—which is where all dogs prefer to actually go. And if that isn’t enticing enough, the artificial turf gives on an organic scent that attracts dogs to use it, and it’s antimicrobial and odor resistant to keep your indoor space fresh and clean. The three-layer system works by sitting the mat on top of the plastic insert, which allows the liquid to drain into the included tray for easy cleanup.

I bought one of these things thinking it would be an answer, or at least help, with potty training. I had 2 small dogs who hated to do their business outside. I tried at least 15 spray products from a pet supply company, and none had any effect. I thought this thing looks like grass, and used it exactly as the directions stated. Neither dog would go near it. I put a scented puppy training pad in the tray, under the plastic grass. One dog used it once. After that, they laid on it like it was a doggie bed. I fought with them and this device that would supposedly solve my problems. Placed phermone and other attracting sprays on top. Nothing. Placed phermone and other attracting sprays on top. Nothing. This thing is sitting in my storage shed, along with numerous other products I've bought dogs thru my 50 yrs of dog owning. I've had dogs ranging from 4lbs - 60lbs. Little dogs just don't like to go potty outside. I've swapped stories with many other small dog owners, and they've all said the same thing. Sometimes I would be able to get them to go outside, if I took them every 2 hrs. But, if you work, or have a life, who can do this? And even if my small dogs did their business outside, and were rewarded, many times they'd go again as soon as they got back inside. The best product I've ever used was a spray called "No Go". You just have to remember to spray it on areas the dogs are attracted to several times a day. I've learned that a 50/50 homemade spray of vinegar & water works as well, if not better. I'm going to begin that tomorrow. This item may help with larger dogs. I can only relay my experience.… more

My puppy started using this the first day it arrived. We introduced this pad via training we learned online. We switched from disposable puppy pads to this item and the results were much better. Puppy goes to it all on his own now and we've only had it a few weeks. Be patient, it's not a magic fix. It's easy to clean in the laundry sink and works nicely with a disposable puppy pad underneath (I'm using my leftovers which I won't need to buy again). We bought two so we can always have one drying or cleaned.
This is great for puppies during winter before they go outside.

this is great for new puppies when they come home and too cold outside during winter, i love it they go right to it, amazing. It is also wonderful to transition your puppy inside to outside grass as they have the feel of this under their feet and easily can go outside. Great for breeders, i am one and I love it for my puppies before they go home.
Easy switch for us....

Great product. We bought 2 so we could cycle while one dries. We went from pads.....to pads on top of this grass. We slowly moved the pad off until Gizmo took to just using the grass. Then a few days of excited "good boy on grass....you did potty in right place." We were prepared for endless months of potty training (he is a Maltese - toy poodle - chihiahua....notorious for long term potty training). Getting a third one for his gama visits.
What a great potty training tool!!!

This grass was an instant connection with our little 6 month old Yorkie! We ordered two, one for laundry room and one for just outside back door. She was using potty pads sometimes and we use them with the grass. She's so tiny (3.8 lbs) that it is hard to tell when she is peeing. But the potty pads make it easy!!! Best puppy investment yet!
Spot on since day 1!!

My 9 week old Pomsky has used this since the day I brought him home from the airport. He poops and pees on it through the night and has no problem relieving himself on the grass the 4x a day we take him out. He even lays on it sometimes to nap and play. I just wish it didnt stink so much from left over urine and poop.
I dont usually take pictures of his poops. So these will have to do.
Puppy Potty Trainer

Excellent training tool. Puppy identified quickly to potty on the grass. Suggest purchasing two for ease of training. Side note: I found my puppy preferring this over real grass in the mornings. He is short and does not like wet grass outside!
Puppy shows no interest

I bought this for the 2nd time..not sure why as the only pet that used it last time was a cat. But I had an idea for this and thought it might help to get him trained for outdoor potty training, but he pays absolutely no attention to it. It just sits there..dry. Also mine did not come with a third part that goes in between the grass pad and the tray. I gave it 2 stars because I do appreciate the idea and also thought the price was good, not over priced.
Maybe it will Work

I think the grass will work eventually he's getting used to it ans the one thing I didn't like is the spray. It seams to work on the grass, but this is one little stubborn chihuahua. It's his way or the highway and he is a cute little thing. He's making me almost broke in the bank area. I've tried everything. I do thing the grass and the spray together are going to work. I have to let him think it's his idea.
Love this product for older dogs or new pups !!

This item is perfect for the little dog you might have trouble getting outside for rain or snow or extreme cold. I was not sure if it would work since my dog is potty trained but for those days when the dog wont go out due to weather this works great !!
