Our kitten had neon red gums and Dentahex was basically traumatizing her (great product though, so if your pet can tolerate stuff getting sprayed in their mouth go try it). I started using ProDen Plaque Off powder and Liquid-Vet tooth and gum support liquid. Not much was happening, her teeth were maybe a little less red. I stopped using the liquid and changed to ProBiora and the vet said her gingivitis looked “mild”. Last time we went they were discussing taking her teeth out, this time they had almost no concern. Her gingivitis is genetic and it seems the ProDen and ProBiora combo is working (the ProBiora might actually be doing most of the work now). Might try more probiotic supplements but this is the first one that actually made a decent difference.
First time trying this product, which claims that it “has no flavor, pets will still enjoy their food”. Instead of following the instructions, I put only a small sprinkle into the cats’ favorite treat — Churus squeezed onto a plate. The cat who usually goes ga-ga for any and all Churus refused to touch her plate. I’ve never seen her snub Churus before. The other cat had one lick and ran away. The next night, I tried giving their usual Churus on a plate with nothing else added. The first cat was happy but the second cat kept running away as I tried to give him his plate, and after I put it on the floor for him he buried the plate under a corner of throw rug. But then he gladly accepted a different wet treat. This stuff is so bad, apparently, that it has put him off Churus for at least a while.
I've been using this for years for my dog - really keeps his breath fresh and keeps the plaque down - not completely away but down enough that he doesn't need his teeth cleaned often - I have noticed they now have "dog" and "cat" on the label but the ingredients seem to be identical as I checked both lables..
