RenaPlus is a prescription medication used to help supplement potassium gluconate. Potassium is needed to maintain overall body health, and RenaPlus provides a safe and effective generic alternative to Tumil-K. It's also available in powder form for easy administration. Veterinarians may use this to treat companion animals.
UsesRenaPlus is used to provide your pets with the potassium they need when they suffer from hypokalemia (low blood potassium). Low potassium levels are common in pets with kidney (renal) problems and can also occur because of other medical conditions.
Possible Side EffectsRenaPlus is generally very safe when it is used as prescribed. It can cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea but these side effects can be minimized when given with food
Drug & Food InteractionsInteractions have been reported with enalapril, digoxin, spironolactone, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or carprofen. Always discuss all medications and supplements with your vet before giving RenaPlus.
Precautions
Pets with high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia) should not take RenaPlus. If severe kidney disease, acute dehydration, untreated Addison's disease (hypoadrenocorticism), or hemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells) is present, this supplement should not be given. Use should also be avoided in animals with constipation.
Also available in a powder.

It does the job.
By Alicia on Feb 9, 2020
Would prefer RenaKare brand for the flavor. My cat doesn't like either formula but prefers RenaKare. It does the job though.
