Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Infection

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Support digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Autoship

Luca has shown an improvement in just a few days on this food!! An additional plus is he loves the taste and will eat it with no toppers! Luca never does this! I am just hoping that he can continue his chicken free Nutridents once per day because he loves them for his teeth. Also, I am continuing him on his Fruitables with no meat. If I see any itching, I will need to eliminate these both. I know it is pricey, but I no longer need to buy toppers or supplements for itching.

TERRIBLE! MADE MY DOG HAVE SEVERE DIARRHEA! My Vet prescribed this for my dog who was having occasional soft stools. We gradually introduced the Royal Canin HP Dog Food into our Dogs feeding routine and within a day or two her stool went from soft stool to severe Bloody Diarrhea. I should have read the reviews before purchasing this Dog food because SEVERAL people have complained about the severe bad reactions it has caused to their pets. So far, it has cost us $265 for a vet bill to have a Fecal PCR test. Needless to say, we won't ever be buying this dog food again.

My sweet girl spent the first year of her life with so many stomach issues. Finally, an internal medicine veterinarian, after mini tests, etc, determine that she has IBD with reflux and recommended couple of medications that she has to be on and Cornell University said she could only eat hydrolyzed protein. Hydrolyzed protein. We are on the hydrolyzed soy protein both canned and dry kibble. It seems to have worked very well in addition to her medications which we are beginning to taper off of. I only wish that the very few companies that carry hydrolyzed food would also carry some sort of chew bone or something of that nature that was hydrolyzed as well as right now the only thing you can find is the kibble, wet food, and a hydrolyzed treat. That is just that a small little treat. Not anything that you could give a dog to sit and chew on to occupy their time. Possibly Chewy could put in a good word with the companies that make and sell hydrolyzed protein food.

Great food! Autoship - only way to go!

Our Lucy is a senior girl who has struggled with digestive issues and food sensitivities. Our vet recommended this food and it’s been 3 years now, no issues whatsoever!

Our Lucy is a senior girl who has struggled with digestive issues and food sensitivities. Our vet recommended this food and it’s been 3 years now, no issues whatsoever! Same with Chewy and autoship, no issues whatsoever. I’ve only needed to adjust our ship date a few times but it’s the easiest thing to do on the website. And every time I receive the email that their “paws” are hard at work getting my order ready, love that!, it’s typically only a couple days later that it’s at my door. The autoship discount doesn’t hurt either. Prescription food isn’t exactly cheap, but worth it, and every bit helps. Thanks Chewy!

Size of kibble Perfect for 12# dog

My vet carries the prescription food but only the large breed size kibble. With the smaller kibble I can feed more but still keep calories down; dog is happier

IBD dog loves it

My dog has IBD and loves this kibble so much we have to feed him his wet food first or he will only eat the kibble and reject the wet food. Easy to digest. No more

My dog has IBD and loves this kibble so much we have to feed him his wet food first or he will only eat the kibble and reject the wet food. Easy to digest. No more vomiting or diarrhea. It brought him back to life. I was nervous we would run out of the sample food from the emergency vet before this order arrived but Chewy processed and shipped this super fast which was a relief because our dog is not allowed to eat anything else. I noticed the dry kibble makes him thirsty. His water bowl is dry within an hour of eating it so we do have extra pee breaks in the evening after dinner. The resealable bag component is cheap and falls apart so we bought a bag clip. Not a deal breaker because I’m grateful my dog feels so much better overall since eating this food. He’s thriving again!
