About Royal Canin Dermatology For Dogs

Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Infection

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Aid digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Autoship

Keep your pet's feeding on schedule.  Set your order for Autoship to make sure you always have their veterinarian-recommended nutrition on hand.

Was OK for awhile!

Allergies are really hard to isolate and apparently most times they are due to environment rather than food. Our JRT did well on this food for awhile and then resorted back to chewing himself and incessant licking. The food is probably just fine for most dogs, but we opted to move on to another brand (Canidae) in an effort to mitigate the allergy symptoms. Similar price but no vet approval. Fingers crossed!

Pups love it!

This was prescribed for my 4 yr old shih tzu with severe allergies. I have 3 shih tzu's and they all like this dry kibble. I moisten it with water for my allergy girl and chicken broth for the other two. This is my second bag and they are still eating it 2 months in. Very pricey but we needed to know if food was the source for my pups allergy issues. Turns out so far its not the food, but it hasn't been 12 weeks yet so another month of trying it out. My older dog can eat this dry or wet and the other two puppy mill rescues eat it wet only. Fast processing of this order with a prescription and got it the day I ran out of my previous bag so perfect timing!

No more itching.

After talking with our vet, we decided to get the Royal Canin Hydrolyzed. We thought our dog had seasonal allergies. Turns out it was the dog food we have been giving her. We couldn't be happier with this food. No more scratching.

Product great presentation poor

to fit this product in a box they taped the bag with such strong tape that it ripped the packaging. It was taped all over. I spent too much time just to get to my product.

Best for my dog with allergies

This was recommended by the vet for my dog with allergies. She seems to like it and after submitting my prescription, Chewy makes it so easy to ship. Otherwise, I'd have a 50 mile trip to get dog food.

Great Product!

I was encouraged to try this hydrolized protein diet for my girl, Roxie, and (SURPRISE!) she loves it! Too soon to know if this diet will resolve her skin allergies but may very well continue feeding her this product regardless
