About Royal Canin Weight Management for Dogs

Concerned about Your Dog’s Weight?

Maintaining a healthy weight can help support your dog’s overall health. When it comes to your dog’s weight, your veterinarian is the expert. You should always consult with your vet to find the best solutions and management options for your pet.

Assessing Your Dog’s Weight

There are 9 body condition scores used to assess a dog’s weight. Talk to your veterinarian about which matches your dog.

  1. LOOK – Check your dog’s body shape to see whether she is very thin, an ideal weight or overweight.
  2. FEEL – Severely defined ribs and waist may mean your dog is very thin. Ribs easily felt but not seen, with an obvious weight, may mean she is an ideal weight. If you cannot her feel ribs and her waist is absent, your dog may be obese.
  3. WEIGH – Work with your veterinarian to identify your dog’s weight and body condition score to help your vet determine your dog’s nutritional needs.

Does the satiety come in a smaller kibble? I’ve got a chihuahua with missing teeth and this new kibble is way too big for him.

my Dog lost a lot of weight

He always asks for food after the croquettes and we thought that this could be a good option for him to stop doing it , but he began to lose weight, he is a very active puppy and although when we began to give him a little more, he was still underweight and the hair began to get very ugly. They eat Royal cannin since puppies but this bag is not worth it. I was also underweight and kept asking for food.

DON'T BUY!!

Read ingredients!! NONE of this is food! The first item is cellulose, another word for sawdust, wood dust!! I wish I had read before I fed it to my dog for thankfully, only 6 weeks, but 6 weeks too long. Regulations on dogfood is very lax, please educate so you don't make the same mistake I did. Look up "human grade" or natural".

Not starving anymore!

I've struggled with weight loss in my large malamute mix. We've tried lots of diet food but he started to scavenge on walks and eat my other dog's poop. With this food he's actually lost 4 lbs so far and isn't totally starving!

Great for Frenchies

My frenchie had been struggling with loose stool issues for a few years. His vet prescribed the Royal C. Satiety Support and its done wonders for weight management and improving his stool. It is pricier than other foods but for my dog at least this has been great for his overall health and well being.

Kibble Size and Shape

Very disappointed. My dog did not lose weight. The kibble is odd shaped and too large causing him to gag and choke. I have used several other Royal Canin Veterinary Diet dry foods. They were all outstanding and the kibble size was smaller.

Misleading

Be aware if you are not paying attention and are trying to save a few bucks, you will end up spending twice as much. There are two icons to choose. One for small breed and one for large BUT if you choose small breed and select the slightly larger bag to save a few bucks, it automatically switches to large breed. I did not notice until I opened the bag. Now it cannot be returned!
