Description

Lower urinary tract disease (LUTD) refers to a group of disorders that commonly leads to irritation of the urinary tract and corresponding undesirable clinical signs.

What causes Lower Urinary Tract Disease? In dogs, bacterial infections of the urinary tract and the presence of stones (uroliths) in the urinary tract are the most common causes. This diet promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

Key Benefits

  • Canine Urinary SO Small Dog is a complete and balanced diet specifically designed for small breed adult dogs at risk of developing lower urinary tract disease. It is formulated to aid in the nutritional management of calcium oxalate and struvite urolithiasis.
  • Low Relative Super Saturation (RSS) technology predicts the crystallization potential of urine and is used to develop our diets to decrease the risk of struvite and calcium oxalate crystal and stone formation
  • Tasty dry dog food also dilutes urine to help prevent struvite and calcium oxalate stones
  • Royal Canin Urinary SO® Index promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals
  • Contains nutrients to support healthy teeth

  • Urinary So treats & dogfood

    By on

It was very disappointing for the urinary so treats to be unavailable for 2 months. That is the one and only treat we can feed our dog. We tried other alternatives such as baking the wet urinary so dog food but that did not turn out so well. The food and the treats have been the new normal for our dog. It is expensive but am thankful for the free shipping chewy.com offers and the discounts chewy.com offers as well.

  • Urinary Diet

My senior Rat Terrier was prescribed Royal Canin SO to aid in the nutritional management of calcium oxalate and struvite urolithiasis. She loves this diet and I'm so glad that it is the optimal diet for her special needs. She's very happy at meal time and it promotes urine dilution and dental health too.

This is the first time I bought the dry. My mini schnauzer has been on the wet for over a year and she likes it. I bought a bag of the dry for a treat as the treats were on back order and she really likes it. Thanks Chewy

  • Always a great price and super convenient

    By on

My schnauzer had to have surgery because of stones several years ago. Using this food has kept her stone free for 3 years. I enjoy getting my pet supplies at Chewy.com. The prices are great and I never run out of food because I signed up for Auto Ship.

Love this new kibble. More cost effective than the last prescribed diet. She eats Royal Canine without coaxing. She also has'nt had any more trips to Vet for bloody urine, and or bladder stones.

  • Good product, great service

    By on

Once, I found out that my dog had crystals in her urine, I took her to the vet. He suggested Royal Canin Vet Diet Urinary SO. I had had my dog on another prescription dog food from a different vet for crystals and it did not help. So, I was anxious to try a different brand. After reviewing Urinary SO online, I thought this is exactly what my dog needed! I checked prices of a bag of this dog food and Chewy.com was the least expensive. Good product, great service from Chewy!

  • Great food!

    By on

My dog has been on this food for years and we've never had any issues. I recently switched to ordering from Chewy.com and was excited to see there was a small dog option with smaller kibbles this whole time we could have been getting! My dog is eating much easier now.
