Description

Tired of scooping your cat's smelly litter? With the Ultra Automatic box from ScoopFree, you can go hands-free and finally stop breaking a sweat. This innovative, top-entry litter box does all the work for you, keeping itself clean without all that stinky hassle. When your cat crawls in to do his business, litter crystals absorb liquid waste and dehydrate solid waste to destroy odors. Then, an automatic rake sweeps through to push the mess out of sight, out of mind, and out of your nose! It keeps itself clean, without needing you to scoop, clean or refill it for weeks. When it comes time to reload, simply place the lid on the disposable tray and throw it away. The crystal litter is 99% track-free, but, if that's not enough, the top-entry hood is built with a large, grated surface for even more protection against tracking. Plus, an included health counter makes sure you know how often your kitty uses the box—so you can keep a watchful eye on his behavior! ScoopFree makes your life easier, your home cleaner and your cat happier. What could be better?

Key Benefits
  • Self-cleaning box keeps itself tidy for weeks—with no scooping, cleaning or refilling—so you can focus on your favorite parts of being a cat parent.
  • Crystal cat litter first absorbs liquids and dehydrates solid waste, then the automatic rake shoves it all into a covered trap—which means you never have to touch or see the smelly stuff.
  • Litter crystals rarely stick to cats' paws, but this top-entry hood has a grated surface that adds extra protection from tracking.
  • Built-in health counter tells you how many times your cat has used the box, so you can easily track your cat's habits and share results with your veterinarian.
  • Cleaning up is simpler than ever—just stick the lid on the disposable tray and toss it in the trash!

Maximizing Litter Tray Life

Here are some tips to help get the most life from the Disposable Crystal Litter Tray.

  • ScoopFree Disposable Litter Trays work best if placed AWAY from areas of high humidity such as bathrooms, showers, and basements. Moisture in the air can shorten the life of the crystal litter and disposable tray. Place in a room with moving air to pull away moisture, such as a room with a fan.
  • Cats with diets high in crude fiber and ash content will produce more solid waste. This may prematurely fill the waste trap. Consider changing the cat’s diet to a food with no byproducts or fillers.
  • Increased elimination habits of older cats and cats with diabetes, kidney and thyroid problems may result in a shorter tray life.
  • Stirring litter crystals once a week may help the tray life for cats that are ill or have a high urine output. Stirring will also distribute saturated crystals, which will also help with cats consistently urinate in the same spot or do not dig. Be sure to mix in the crystal litter from behind the rake and along the sides of the litter box. DO NOT mix in litter from under the waste trap.
  • Kittens are not as developed so their solid waste can be runny. Kittens will go through litter trays faster than adult cats. It is recommended to use ScoopFree with cats that are older than 6 months.

CAUTION: If your kitten is under 6 months of age, leave the unit UNPLUGGED and scoop waste until kitten is 6 months old.

Care & Cleaning

The ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box seldom needs cleaned because of its revolutionary design. Surfaces that would normally become soiled are discarded with each Disposable Crystal Litter Tray. However, you may occasionally choose to clean the litter box.

WARNING Do not submerge or expose the electrical components to water or cleaning solutions. Always unplug the unit when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.

To Clean:

  1. Unplug power adapter from wall outlet and disconnect from the litter box.
  2. Lift and remove the litter box frame from the crystal litter tray.
  3. Remove waste trap cover by tilting it outwards until the side posts fall out of the slots on the front of the litter box frame.
  4. Wipe all surfaces on the litter box frame with a cloth or sponge using mild soap and water. Wipe rake with sponge or soft brush. DO NOT use bleach or chemicals to clean as they can act as a repellent to your cat.
  5. Clean the Detection Sensors on the interior sides of the litter box frame to make sure they are not blocked.
  6. Thoroughly dry all parts before reassembling the litter box.

To Reassemble:

  1. Install the waste trap cover by sliding the posts on the side of the cover into the slots on the front of the litter box frame.
  2. Install the litter tray (see “Litter Tray Installation” page 8).

Troubleshooting

Indicator light is flashing rapidly, and rake is at home position.

  • Check if waste trap is full. If so, replace litter tray.
  • Check for obstructions and remove if necessary.
  • Make sure magnets on waste cover are properly attached to litter tray. If not, lift waste cover and lower it back down; you should hear a “click” when correctly attached to the tray.
  • Make sure waste trap cover is properly installed.
  • Ensure litter box is level and seated properly on litter tray.
  • Ensure litter is evenly distributed. Never add extra litter.
  • Unplug the litter box and wait a few seconds. Plug the litter box in again. When the rake returns to the home position, the indicator light will glow solid green.

Indicator light is flashing rapidly (8 times per second), and rake is stopped several inches away from the home position.

  • Check for any obstructions behind the rake. If so, unplug the litter box and remove obstruction. Wait a few seconds.
  • Plug the litter box in again. The rake should return to the home position and the indicator light will turn on solid green.

Indicator light is flashing medium (4 times per second), and system will not rake after the countdown time elapses.

  • Check to see if the detection sensors are obstructed.
  • Unplug box and clear any litter or waste that may have collected on the sensors. After cleaning, plug it back in.
  • When the rake returns to the home position, the indicator light should turn on solid green.

Magnets on waste trap cover do not attach to litter tray.

  • Waste trap cover may not be properly installed. See “Care and Cleaning” page 13 to remove and reinstall waste trap Cover.
  • Then press down on waste trap cover or lift waste trap on litter tray until you hear a click, indicating magnets have attached to the tray.

Litter box frame is not level on litter tray.

  • The litter box should rest on the litter tray when installed, not on the floor. Make sure the litter box is completely level on the litter tray (see “Litter Tray Installation ” page 8).
FAQ

Can ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box be used with multiple cats?

ScoopFree was designed for use with one or two cats. If you have more than two cats, it is recommended to have at least one litter box for every two cats.

How will I know when to change the litter tray?

You should change the litter tray when either of the following occurs: * The crystal litter is saturated. As the crystals absorb urine, the litter will start to turn yellow. Once the majority of the litter turns yellow, the crystals are nearing their saturation point. When the crystals can no longer absorb any more moisture, you may start to notice an odor from the urine. * The waste trap is full. When the waste trap is full, the waste trap cover will not close completely. You may see small pieces of solid waste sticking out from underneath the lid. You may also start to notice an odor from the solid waste.

Greatest thing I have bought in a long time.

    By on

I wasn't sure how my baby would adapt to this but she has really taken to the ScoopFree! Since I have purchased this potty, I no longer smell anything that my kitty has or has not covered up because the ScoopFree really works. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had tried a different automatic cat box and had to give it back because it was way too messy. So happy with my purchase. The scoopFree looks clean all the time and nothing comes out on the floor.

    Excellent box

    By on

Put this together in minutes and my cat took to in within the day. The self cleaning process is super quiet and you dont really need to pay attention to the box for a few days at a time - which for someone working full time, it's a godsend. My girl is none the wiser that her mom is now lazy and only does her poopy bidding every week or so. I went ahead and bought the reusable tray so after my first month I dont have to buy the whole tray and litter unit for so much more money. Very clean compared to the old clumping litter, the cat doesnt mind at all, and the crystals last about a month with one cat. Absolutely my best buy!

    DISGUSTING

    By on

This is such a waste of money - crystals smell like death. I think it started to smell on day 3, even with the "rake" and the "cleaning system". Poop sticks to the rake, and the poop storage STINKS. Crystals do not "trap" smells at all - it intensifies it. The "self-ceaning" box does a poor job and the smell was far worse than using any regular cat litter system. I am greatly disappointed in this expensive product.

    Less Mess!!

    By on

Want sure how the cats would look this entry for a litter box, however they never thought twice about (given a cats curious nature anyway) I LOVE it, definitely less mess on the floor to clean up as the crystals are trapped on top as the cat jumps up and out of the litter box. You just brush the crystals back into the litter box. What a cool idea!

    Great Product, Easy to Assemble

    By on

This assembled super quick and was very easy to setup. I am still working on getting a better time activation for clean up as I feel that I can have a little more odor in the room than I care for right now, but I know there are adjustments that can be made to get there. The kitten I brought home was trained on wood pellets and she transitioned seamlessly to the crystals.

    Poop spreads

    By on

The description says it lasts 10-12 days for 2 cats. However, by day 3, the mechanical arms had created so many broken up poop particles in the crystals that my cats went to the bathroom in the corner of the bathroom instead of entering the box.

    LOVE THIS!

    By on

I have 2 large cats. They both fit through the opening (which was one of my concerns). This product also counts how many swipes it has cleaned. Less clean up of from them slinging litter all over as well because of the hood. I'd recommend this product to anyone.

    No smell, no mess!

    By on

This thing is a game changer. Helped eliminate all odors, even after kitty uses it. Also helps stop kitty from dragging kitty litter all over the floors. I love this thing and will never go back.

    Very pleased with this product

    By on

I have this for m cats and I couldn't be any more pleased with the purchase. I have noticed the area where the cat pan is has no real odor compared to other self cleaning pans I have used in the past. Also this is very simple to clean out, once I dump it I rinse it and wipe the unit down with 1-2 Clorox wipes, refill and good to go.
