My aging Cats seem to love it, which is the point. I puchased this box to replace a lower sided (5”) geriatric box, to which I added clear Velcro on side shields to limit litter kick. Save your money and just get this box. Is it perfect? No. Here’s what I like: 1 higher sides 2. Wide, Low front. Easy in and easy out. Yes, more potential litter scatter, but cats need room 3. Size (I have one very large cat who needs this size) Here’s the don’t like: 1. Handles seem small and insubstantial for a box of this size. I’m a senior and when full, this box is a difficult lift Also, maybe a more substantial plastic for the entire box. My prior geriatric box seemed sturdier. 2. Opening lip should be narrower and with a rolled edge for safe, easy entry. Slant the opening towards the box to contain litter, 3. Maybe a textured floor (a pain to clean, but safer for the very old cats) 4. Buy peel off labels that peel off easily. The label on my box didn’t 5. Add colors like black and grey Overall, I and cats are very happy with this box.

We recently got a third cat and needed to get an additional litterbox. I decided to get this one because it is so extremely large - I wanted to make sure the cats would have enough space to dig around without breaking up the clumps from previous visits and getting those pesky tiny bits of dirty litter everywhere. It works great! It takes a bit longer to scoop just because there is so much litter, but to me it's worth it to not have to fish out as many of the tiny bits. My one complaint is that the lip of the entryway is unnecessarily wide and tends to collect litter on top of it. It's a bit annoying to have to constantly sweep that litter back into the box. But not a huge deal. Overall I definitely recommend this if you have the space for it!

My girl is 18 years old and having serious little box issues. The high sides and low entry point were a life savor. Not to mention, the box is much larger than an average litter box and she had a lot more room to move around and do her thing. I think this box is really helpful if you have an older kitty who needs a little extra attention in the litter box department.

I got this expanded liter pan for my cat recovering from surgery. It allowed enough room for him to position himself with his cone on and not make mistake. It also helped so he could easily step into and not hop or jump in. It was large enough if my other cat came to check it out and use the restroom she could as well. So it will also be great for multi cat liter box

My senior cat had stroke 5 years ago. Although he recovered almost fully from it with just minor limping, his mobility declined significantly this year as some other major health issues arise. He has problem lifting his hind leg and turning around in the two regular size litter boxes in the house. This issue eventually leads to peeing outside of the box, or sitting /laying down in the litter box, because he simply doesn't have the strength to find the right position to do his business. After an idiopathic UTI episode, I decided to get this low entry and X-large size litter box for him. Now he only uses this box and never go back to the two regular boxes. My only complaint is the height of the box -- I wish it could be higher, because senior cat like mine gets weak hind legs and arthritis, he couldn't squat down to pee any more. He just stands to pee, and the curve can go pretty high. I had to buy some plastic shields to cover all sides of the box. The opening is also a bit too wide, my cat has a few accidents peeing outside of box when he's actually inside the box. After narrowing the opening with some plastic shield, we had zero accident since.
