Is it one piece of metal all the way through the handle or rubber handle on a metal scoop?
Answer by ChewyNov 27, 2019
The handle for this scoop has metal through the handle and will not bend.

I use clumping litter. I have tried 3 different plastic scoops and am not afraid of them breaking. What I hate is the small pieces of clumping litter that fall thru the scoops and back into the litter box. Would this be a better scoop for keeping the small pieces from falling back into the box?
Answer by ChewyJan 14, 2020
This scoop is ideal for dumping both clump and non-clump litter, the blades have gaps designed to lift out only the waste, and leave clean litter pieces inside the box.

Is the scoop large or regular sized? I have multiple cats, a larger scoop works best.
Answer by ChewyApr 21, 2020
This scoop is approximately 14 inches long by 5.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick.

Rust Proof?

Sturdy Scoop

I have had one of these scoops for a few years, and use a holder for it. A second cat in the household, a kitty who has her own unique personality as well as her own space in my home, led to a second Scoop. Both cats have deep litter pans, so finding a scoop that can withstand lots of litter without bending or breaking made this scoop the only one for the job.

Sturdy but...

These are sturdy scoopers that will last a long time however, the grade is too large and leaves a lot of the tiny pieces behind. The cleaner the box the longer the litter stays fresh.

Sturdy and well made

I don't think this will ever break like plastic ones tend to do, I have to use it every day and it's been quite durable

Works well!

Sturdy item gets the job done without digging and making a mess of the cat litter outside of the box. Works far better than the plastic shovels.

This metal scooper is sturdy and easily scoops up all the excrement! We use clumping litter, which helps, and, other than wishing the handle were a bit longer, this scoop is worth the extra cost. We have four very healthy and poop-producing cats!!

Perfect Tool for the Job

We've worked with MANY rescue kitties and always have a lot of litter to clean up. This scoop stands up to the challenge of many little boxes, not enough time to clean them all up. The large scoop cleans up fast and the metal material is sturdy enough to last a long time. We love it!

Upgrade from plastic

I used to use plastic scoops for my resident cat until I brought home 2 kittens just before Halloween. They have this cute-yet frustrating-habit of digging a grave for their deposits into the litter box. Plastic scoops just weren't getting the stuck-on urine clumps off the bottom of the box easily & I actually had a scoop make a "crack" sound from trying. I got these to try & see if it would go smoother. It does, especially once you manage to get under the clump enough-might take a couple of tries. I do have bits of urine clumps that do stick to this scoop but nowhere near as bad as plastic-urine plus sand-type litter, its gonna stick to a varying degree despite the "nonstick" advertising

Smooth Scooper

This scoop works really well with the kitty litter I use. The wet litter sometimes will stick but it wipes off very fast. There are no "prongs" on the bottom of the scoop like the plastic ones have. It is large and seems strong. Other reviewers had problems with the handle coming off, but so far mine has worked great.

Sturdy, exactly what I need

I needed a sturdy scooper that wouldn't give out when cleaning the corner of the litter box, which is my cat's favorite potty spot. The clumping litter really makes a hard clump and my previous plastic scoop was too flimsy.

The Cadillac of Scoopers!!!

I wasn't sure about the size of this scoop, but went for it. So glad I did! This is a sturdy, well designed and highly functional scoop!!! If you like a tool that is going to outlast you, this is it. No fear that it will break, like a flimsy plastic scoop. I doubt it will rust or corrode like my previous scoop. The openings sift very functionally, as the mouth of the scoop works very effectively to pick up the litter. This is the BOMB!!! Cat owner/guardian for over 50 years! There is also one with a longer handle which might be even better for some!
