Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Questions & Answers

Is this supposed to prevent future fleas and ticks after use or is it just a one time contact killer?
Answer by ChewyApr 26, 2020
Do not reapply product for 7 days. When shampooing animal, avoid eyes. Use cloth or sponge to shampoo around animal’s eyes. Wear rubber gloves (mitts) when applying this product. Thoroughly wet the entire hair-coat with warm water and then apply enough shampoo to make a lather and work thoroughly into the hair-coat. For maximum parasite control allow lather to remain in contact with skin for five to ten minutes before rinsing. Do not use on nursing puppies under 12 weeks of age. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals, or animals on medication.

Why does it say do no reapply solution for 7 days?
Answer by ChewyDec 23, 2018
Overuse of flea and tick treatments is not recommended as it can cause averse reactions.

can i use a conditioner after using this?
Answer by ChewyOct 16, 2019
While not necessary, you can use the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot & Itch Relief Conditioner after shampooing. For maximum parasite control, we recommend to allow Flea and Tick Shampoo to remain in contact with skin for five to ten minutes before rinsing. Then, you can apply the conditioner and allow it to remain on pet for 5 minutes. Rinse well.

Is this product safe to use on Guinea Pigs?

Kills the fleas while the soap is on my dog but the fleas come right back. It does not keep on killing as advertised. My cat gets them right back an hour after her bath when she goes outside to potty.

Works but drys the skin

I bought this to give my cat a flea bath and while it did work it gave my cat dandruff. I would suggest buying a conditioner to use after the shampoo it’s been about a week now and there are no more fleas but she’s been having large pieces of dandruff come off. So just make sure you buy something for after the shampoo. Also maybe wear gloves as it really dried my hands out.

Worked great. Unfortunately my pup passed so I could only use it once. But it got rid of all of her fleas. Made her coat very soft and shiny.

I haven't been able to use it yet. But each product of shampoos work well with dogs that have irritation with skin / fur.

Does it wort or not?

I have used this on a cat and a dog and it has not worked on either animal. If I didn’t use it would return it.

Works Great

I couldn't find any fleas on my cat even though he was scratching like crazy. After washing him with this shampoo, I found dead fleas around the sink. I'm pleased with the results and I think my is too!

We have been struggling with the season switch with fleas and ticks. We got new seresto collars along with this medicated shampoo and it was MAGIC! left the girls coats shiny and fluffy and best thing was flea and tick free! Living in the woods is hard but this shampoo makes it easier!

Good Quality Soap

The Shampoo is easily spreadable on my GSP and he doesn’t seem to have a negative reaction to it :)

killed them for a day :(

It killed a bunch of the fleas on the cats, and we even left it in longer than it says to on the bottle the second time around, but it didn’t seem to kill them all, even with weekly baths. I also bought a flea comb to comb them between baths to see if that would fix it, but even with combing them multiple times a day, every day, the fleas are still here! I think I might have to start charging them rent.. the photo is after bath number 5, most of those fleas were still moving and a few latched onto me and bit me as I was drying him off :(
