The review I accidentally wrote last week for Merrick turkey cat food was intended for this product, in fact it was precisely why I switched from Merrick to Whole Earth Farms, but Chewy was unable to contact or provide contact info to me for the 3rd party who handles these reviews. Now that I have my chance to reach you, could you please remove the review with the same headline for the Merrick product and substitute it for this product, Whole Earth's grain-free turkey pate, which is in fact what I use to feed the many ferals on my block. Sorry about the mistake, I was rushing while on lunch break. But I would greatly appreciate the correction, especially for others on a tight budget trying The review I accidentally wrote last week for Merrick turkey cat food was intended for this product, in fact it was precisely why I switched from Merrick to Whole Earth Farms, but Chewy was unable to contact or provide contact info to me for the 3rd party who handles these reviews. • None of my cats would eat

    By on

I was very hopeful this would be another brand I could add to my cats diet. I have one who needs to be a diet that has only turkey protein, and there are few products offer that, this one did. My cats like the dry but no one will eat this. Ingredients look good.

  • This is the worst food I have ever tried

    By on

The consistency of this food is different with each can you open. The moisture level is basically non-existent, you can't even completely wash out the can because the food is so thick & dry it sticks to the can and the top. Sometimes the cans are only 1/2 full. Sometimes my cat would eat it right away, and others he would turn his nose up at immediately. I wasted so much money throwing out pretty much 1/2 of what I had bought. I will never purchase again.

  • Almost Perfect

I tried this brand as a replacement for the Wellness Turkey of which has recently undergone a recipe change that my cats are not having. Although this brand is agreeable with them it does lack moisture and I have to mix it with another can with gravy or they wont finish it all. I try to limit their gravy intake, I tried just water to soften it, but it still comes out caked, so that's where the gravy comes into that balance-= how the Wellness formula ' Used To Be' !

  • I sometimes wish there was a different rating system

    By on Top 50 Contributor

In rating a food, I look at 2 things - first, how many of my 7 cats like the food. The second thing I look at is how healthy I feel the food is for them based on the ingredients. This was a tough food for me to rate. The day I first fed it to my cats, I read an article about added ingredients in cat foods to avoid. Dried peas was listed in the article and this food contains dried peas. Normally, I would not have rated it 4 stars for that reason, however, not only did all of my cats like the food, but I witnessed something that I've never seen before. Two of my cats really dislike each other. On a good day, they tolerate each other's existence on the planet. Two of my cats really dislike each other. On a good day, they tolerate each other's existence on the planet. Most days, there's quite a bit of hissing and growling when they are in the same room. My cats are fed on separate plates initially and then any leftovers I put on a "community plate" for anyone who still wants more food. Normally, they take turns. When I put the leftovers of this food down, the 2 cats who don't like each other ate together, off the same plate, at the same time. If I hadn't witnessed it myself, I never would have believed it. So, I had to give the food another star. There are many more unhealthier ingredients than dried peas. … more

  • Excellent REAL food!

My cats are doing so well on Whole Earth Farms canned food! I alternate between the turkey and the chicken pate recipes, and about two times a week I give them the grain-free turkey and duck kibble (just out of convenience - the canned recipes are their primary food). They all eat it readily, and lick their plates clean! And I have to say, their poops are WAY less stinky, not too soft or hard. My elderly kitty is no longer vomiting and has gained some much needed weight since we switched to this food a few months ago. Not sure if this is related, but my Siamese who has been an excessive shedder his whole life, has had much less shedding since switching to this. • Good food, affordable price

    By on Top 250 Contributor

Much like the chicken recipe, the turkey recipe is extremely dense. I have to add quite a bit of water to mix it into a consistency that resembles their duck recipe, as my kitten loves that flavor. I'm not a fan of the addition of peas into this recipe, as the duck flavor doesn't include peas and is relatively low carb. My kitten does eat most of this food when he gets the turkey recipe at his meal time and I don't throw too much away once he's decided he's done. The rest of the ingredients are very good quality and you cannot beat the relatively low price of this food for the quality of what's in the can!

  • Good product

I've ordered this twice now and so far it seems to be palatable for my cats, smells ok and stools are ok. After only using dry food for my previous cats for years and them getting devastating kidney and urinary problems in old age, I decided to add canned food for moisture. Just adding water to kibble doesn't help. Indoor cats seem to not drink enough and this overtaxes the kidneys. We'll see if this helps with the two indoor cats I have now. I chose turkey because it's easier on their digestive system

  • Cat approved: four paws up

I was looking for new flavors to feed our cats. They seemed tired of their other food, so I got some new flavors in the Merrick and Halo brands. I got one can of Whole Earth Farms turkey pate from pet store to try and our two cats licked their bowls clean.

I add about 30% to can for three kittens they all like the food. I also try to stay away from as much chicken as possible.
