Encourage your pet to eat his greens with a grass growing kit from The Cat Ladies. Like humans, pets of all species instinctively crave healthy doses of the vitamins and minerals found in vegetables. That's why you might spot your pet chewing grass in your lawn—or even munching on your houseplants. Trouble is, they're often treated with chemicals and can be toxic to animals. With a proprietary blend of wheat, oats, rye, barley and flax, this bed of greens will be safe for your pal to snack on. Best of all, the kit comes with everything you need to grow the perfect bed of grass in your own home. It's so easy, you can turn planting into a fun, educational activity with your kids, nephews and nieces, or grandchildren. And don't let these ladies fool you! They didn't make this kit exclusively for their feline friends. Dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and reptiles can enjoy munching on the fruit—or the grass—of your labor within 4-5 days of planting! It's a healthy treat made by pet lovers, for pet lovers.

(3) planters, organic non-vomiting seed mix, and organic growing soil.
Do not over water. Store seeds in a cool, dark, dry spot or store in the freezer to extend the life.
Organic Wheat Seed, Organic Rye Seed, Organic Oat Seed, Organic Barley Seed, Organic Flax Seed.
Feed to your pet as a healthy reward or snack. Adjust the serving size according to the size of your pet. If your pet is hesitant to eat the grass from the planter, you can try cutting some pieces up and putting it with their food, or some pets even prefer to eat the bits from the floor. You can spritz the grass with water or hide a treat in the grass to encourage feeding.
1) Add soil contents to planter
2) Add enough warm (not hot) water to fully moisten the soil (about 5 or 6 ounces)
3) After water absorbs, stir soil and allow to sit for about 10 minutes
4) Fluff soil and remove about 2-3 tbsp. soil and set aside.
5) Sprinkle seeds evenly over soil
6) Cover seeds with 1/8-inch soil and gently press soil over seeds
7) Place planter in a warm, semi dark area (just away from direct light, not in complete darkness as it may cause mold). NOTE: For faster results cover planter loosely with plastic wrap just until first sprouts appear (no longer than 1-2 days)
8) After sprouts appear or no more than two days, remove plastic wrap and move to a sunny location
9) Keep soil moist until grass reaches 3 inches. Check moisture daily. Once established: do not over water.
10) In about 4-7 days, once grass reaches about 4-5 inches it is ready to feed to your pet.
Planter looking a little bare? Additional seeds are also available.
I have never given my cats cat grass before, but thought I would give it a try! The kit has everything you need - just add water! I actually read (and followed) the directions and had germination within two days. The grass began to grown on day 3. By day 5 it was ready! My cats sniffed it, the kitten pawed at it, but neither of them was interested in eating it. But, as I said, they never had it before so they didn't know what it was! Bottom line - easy to grow, everything included.
I was surprised at just how easy this was! I followed the instructions and had grass available for my cats in about a week! My cats have really been enjoying it and it's so much cheaper than buying from a regular pet store! 10/10 will buy again!
Lulu is an indoor cat who likes to sneak and eat houseplants. I grew cat grass for her and she loves it and is leaving the houseplants alone. I placed it near her cat tree and she likes to pop down for a snack whenever she feels the urge to nibble. I'm hoping this also helps her digestion since she has hairballs frequently despite daily grooming.
My indoor-only cat seems to be addicted to eating plants. He's torn through roughly 10 plants over the last 2 years. I bought some wheatgrass from the pet store but it never seemed to last longer than a few days before wilting and dying. The Cat Ladies sent me everything I needed for 3 rounds of self-contained bright and fresh wheatgrass. Containers, soil, and seeds. It took 3 days for the grass to explode and my little guy ran towards it when it gave it to him. It's been about 3 days since I put it down and the grass is still growing - almost as fast as he chows down on it. I'll probably plant the second one as soon as the first begins to die. The directions say a few weeks. I'm happy to see him get his fill of his 'greens' while saving my plants from decimation. For their Customer Service: I wasn't sure if I could use the plastic tray after sprouting (the directions recommend a pot) or if I should use all the seeds in one packet. The Cat Ladies have a FB Msgr account and responded to both questions within minutes. (BTW: You can use the plastic containers exclusively, and do use the whole seed packet) NOTE: I know that some cats eat plants due to illness, etc. My vet swears that Mister Man is perfectly healthy - some cats just like their salad apparently.
It arrived super fast. It grew super fast. But, my cat wouldn't have anything to do with it. So, I gave it to my granddaughter for her cats. They seemed somewhat interested in it.
My Mom cat Gracy loves this grass! She lived outside until I adopted her. She had two kittens I adopted also. Her kittens do not eat grass!
This might be obvious, but warning for new kitten owners to limit the amount of grass your kitty eats. Tried letting one kitty eat the grass twice, but she started vomiting and pure diarrhea for a full day and a half, after nibbling on the grass each time. Would recommend trying a smaller batch of grass to test for stomach sensitivities before ordering this kit
love this, cats love it, and it HAS kept them away from my plants!! miraculous. now i just need a reusable container and more dirt.
I love this cat grass! And so does my cat. It's so easy to put together and within a few days you'll have a pot of full grown grass that your cat will love.
Very fast growing. I have put them in a container with taller tops for moisture retention. I rotate them out after a coupe days for growing. My cat has yet to take interest. May sprinkle catnip on it.
