Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

what are the side effects of catego flea treatment
Answer by ChewyJun 25, 2019
Monitor your cat after application. Individual sensitivity, such as slight transitory redness, erythema, scratching, pruritus or other signs of discomfort at the site of application, may occur after using any pesticide product for cats. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your cat with mild soap or shampoo and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs of individual animal sensitivity occur and persist, contact your veterinarian. Gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea have also been reported. If these or other side effects occur, consult your veterinarian or call Catego at 1-800-999-0297. Have the product container or label with you when calling your veterinarian for advice.

Frustrated

I have twenty cats that are in out cats, so I’m always looking for an inexpensive flea treatment. I’ve tried quite a few none of which seem to work well. I’ve had some success with Catego how ever not all cats are equal. small cats it seems to last close to a month, larger cats a couple of weeks at best. A couple lost hair and had what looked like chemical burns on their neck. So use with caution is my advice..

Worked for about a week

I wish I could say this product worked well on my three cats, but it worked for about a week. I wonder if anything works anymore. We successfully used AdvantageII for several years, but then the fleas developed a resistance to it. Our cats are all indoor cats, but we live beside woods and get mice infestations during very cold and very hot weather. All of a sudden nothing works on them, not AdvantageII, Frontline, Catego and another product I bought locally. I guess my next step is to go the vet for a prescription product and hope that it works. I would say try it and maybe you will have better luck.

Fleas dropping dead after 5 hours

Started using Catego a few years ago. Bought it on a whim. Then, when using others line Frontline, the fleas weren't bothered. Always come back to this, and all 6 cats react well. Flea in the pic is one of several fallen off my cat after 5 hours.

FATAL IF SWALLOWED!?!?

Got the 6 dose box to treat our guys. Got the tubes ready to go and started to read the instructions and this pops out at me "may be fatal if swallowed." WHAT? That is definitely not going on my cats. It might be OK if you have just one cat but they groom each other all the time. Not worth the risk!

don’t waste your money

You’ll just end up having to buy the big name brands when this fails to work. Save yourself some time and money (and the added risk of a home flea infestation) by skipping this in favor of the more expensive flea treatments that are out there. It’s not worth the 1/1000 chance that MAYBE you’ll get lucky and have it work for your cat.

what happened!?

what on earth happened to this formula!? I can say it has been almost if not already a year since I've had to re order this product. but my cats are inside cats and they haven't had fleas in a very long time to where I know some how someway there was some sorta straggler or something that came home with us and this batch I got gave my cats relief for about a week.... I was so angry to find out I wanted my money as well as now have extra medicine that serves no purpose. I love that for me and cats that have been getting bit up EVEN WORSE now that this doesn't work anymore. JUST LOVE IT FOR US.

Good product for a great price.

This is a great product especially for the price. Have multiple cats we have used it on. No adverse effects on any. Several outside cats were having problems with ticks and this product worked so well to help. We apply as directed. Also have a cat with flea dermatitis and he loses his hair terribly from just a few fleas. This product took care of his problem too. I do recommend it. Easy to open and apply.

Does not work

We tried 2 doses timed exactly as instructed and all three cats still have fleas. Two cats go in and out and one stays inside. Never used a product this bad
