Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Monitor your cat after application. Individual sensitivity, such as slight transitory redness, erythema, scratching, pruritus or other signs of discomfort at the site of application, may occur after using any pesticide product for cats. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your cat with mild soap or shampoo and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs of individual animal sensitivity occur and persist, contact your veterinarian. Gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea have also been reported. If these or other side effects occur, consult your veterinarian or call Catego at 1-800-999-0297. Have the product container or label with you when calling your veterinarian for advice.

Is this product alcohol based?

This treatment is not alcohol based. The active ingredients are 22% Dinotefuran, 8.92% Fipronil and 3.00% Pyriproxyfen. The other ingredients are 66.08%. The other ingredients are a proprietary formula that helps the solution dry on your cat's skin instead of turning into a greasy mess.

Catego actually got rid of the fleas on our cats. Well, mostly. I had tried all the popular brands but with no luck. We had a serious problem with the fleas and nothing worked. When our cats went to the vet to be spayed, they came home with these fleas. I think because the fleas came from a vet office they were resistant to the usual flea medicines. Catego took care of the problem! Within 2 months, we were mostly flea free. My only complaint is it seems to work for about 3 weeks, not a full month. We've not had any irritation or reaction to the medicine which is awesome.

As for the Catego, we ordered it for one of our cats that was getting a small bald spot on his shoulder blades when we used another product. Since the switch, the bald spot has disappeared! Great stuff!

I received the package on 12/2 but knew what it was sending rush to open it. The package was sealed with clear tape, not sure if that's how you normally sealnyour boxes. The Catego box was open when I pulled it out of the box. There was only 1 package of 3 doses inside the box not 2. Essentially I paid for 6 and received 3. I realize this may have occurred in transit but wanted you to be aware.

Actually killed fleas better than any other non vet prescribed.

They put catego on Buttons when she was spayed and we continued to use it. No irritation to my little girl. Very impressed I have used a lot of different otc products

It leaks when used.

2 of the 3 tubes leaked from the tube where the pink cap connects when I squeezed it onto my cats neck. Not sure if they got enough medicine to be effective.
