This doesn't work as well as the last formula, but it still does a good job. My lab has the worst skin allergies in the fall and this helps to keep the scratching under control. Smell is not terrible and overpowering like other chlorhexidine shampoos out there.
I shampooed my 7lb chihuahua with this shampoo, with hopes to eliminate his itchy paws and hair loss. Well he licked his wet paws after his bath as he normally does, and he got violently ill. He vomited off and on for an hour. Needless to say, I have no idea if this shampoo works as described, but I do know it's toxic. So be careful! A total waste of money!
Was recommended this by our vet. Our golden has always had skin allergies and we have tried a lot of different shampoos from the pet store, they always seem to cause him to loose a lot of his hair or irritate his skin. For the first time he did not scratch after his bath. He was not shedding like crazy after either. This a shampoo I will continue to purchase for him.
So glad our vet recommended this product. It calms our dog's skin down when she is having skin reactions to pollen and such. We wash first with Zymox enzyme shampoo and then with this. It's a great combination.
I purchased this product after reading the mostly positive reviews. I was hoping this shampoo would help my Louie who has had issues with yeast ( and maybe allergies). I was trying to not do the expensive route of pet medicines. This has not helped him and made some of his red spots More red and he still scratches after being bathed. Perhaps I should have tried the allergy shampoo instead. Maybe next time.
This shampoo was recommended by a vet tech who had used it prior while she was working as a groomer. I’ve been using it for 6 months now. My senior rescue dog’s allergies manifest through ear infections, raw itchy paws and an over production of yeast. When her environmental allergies start to spike she does a lot of head shaking, rubbing her ears and licking of her paws, tail and rear end. Then the yeast will begin to show via musty and oily skin. It’s taken a couple of years to work out a maintenance protocol that works for her, going through steroids, prescription foods and Apoquel. We’ve now done away with all of that and use fresh food, natural supplements and this shampoo. I bathe her once a week and per the directions let the shampoo soak in for 10 minutes. I’m sure to massage it into her paws especially. If her allergies are spiking, after the bath, her paws lose their red and inflamed appearance by the next morning. I highly recommend giving this shampoo a try if you’re searching for skin allergy and especially yeast relief for your dog. It works for my girl!
I was having problems with my dogs allergies. She (Jai) broke out with sores, and allot of itchy skin. Her vet told me to use this shampoo; I did, and within a few weeks, her itching stopped tremendously. Her skin looked so much better. Bottom line, I use this product, and her skin is wonderful.
I love the product, I've been using it for years. The bottle they currently put it in is a bad design. That would be my only complaint.
My dog has allergies and she breaks out in hives and hot spots. This shampoo calms her skin and heals the hot spots. I noticed by the next day they looked better, not red and healed within a few days after showering my dog.
This is an expensive bottle of shampoo and I was extremely disappointed when the bottle arrived and the packaging was soaked through for the pump leaking. Also, the pump it terribly made and flimsy. However, the shampoo works ok on treating my dog's allergy breakouts. So I would recommend it, only because I have not found any other brands that work.
