What is the difference between this formula and the PS formula?

The Douxo S3 Pyo has replaced the Douxo Chlorhexidine products. One of the main ingredients in the Douxo line, Phytospingosine, has been replaced by a combination of ingredients called Ophytrium. Ophytrium helps supports the skin's physical barrier, helps support the microbial flora of healthy skin, and helps sooth red, itchy, and irritated skin.

The inactive ingredients in this shampoo are water, Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, decyl glucoside, capryloyl glycine, pentavitin (saccharide isomerate), panthenol, coco + vanilla hypoallergenic fragrance, PEG-200 glyceryl stearate, phenoxyethanol, citric acid, and sodium hydroxide.

Can I use doucos3 SHAMPOO on my kitten (18 weeks old)and has tested positive for ringworm but no lesions (lesions gone but still positive)

There is no age requirement for this shampoo, it is suitable for cats and dogs of all ages. Please reach out to your veterinarian as they know your pet and what is the best for your situation.

It is recommended to bathe with the shampoo once, then apply the mousse by this brand, two times the first week (roughly every other day), then apply the mousse three times weekly for two weeks. It is recommended to reevaluate the skin with a veterinarian following this three-week treatment.

I purchased this shampoo to help my dog’s superficial pyoderma. He is treated with oral antibiotics and topical Rx. I chose this product for its gentleness, as his skin is often irritated by shampoo. It is gentle, non-drying and didn’t make his skin more inflamed. It foamed nicely, was easy to rinse off. Despite the good attributes, it didn’t reduce the number of new lesions that came up in the days after the bath. I’m going to try it again and see if anything changes for the better (3rd bath with this shampoo, 2 baths per week per DVM guidance). Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be a good fit for my dog’s particular situation, but I would still recommend this product and company in general. I’ll try other products from them in the future.

We tried meds (e.g., ketoconazole, Benadryl, etc.) but they would help him for a few days and then he would go back to his regularly scheduled itching. Through talking with our vet and desperately searching Reddit, we came across a recommendation for this shampoo and using it 2-3x/week. Since we started using the shampoo, it’s been a game changer! It was a shot in the dark and it actually works! You have to keep up with the baths but if you do, it’s a game changer.

Great for Dogs with Skin Issues

Was so pleased to find it on Chewy at a much lower price than the vet charged. It is a part of routine. 2- 3 times a week when the rashes flare up. Once a week ongoing. At first I was concerned about his skin drying out but he isn't itchy at all and his rash is under control.

My dog has allergy skin and developed an infection. He had little red bumps all over his body. The dermatologist recommended this and with daily baths after 2 weeks, his skin completely cleared up! It also leaves his fur feeling soft and has a pleasant fragrance. Very happy I can help his skin without rounds of powerful antibiotics (his infection was resistant to the common antibiotics). I will definitely continue using and buy again!

Nice smell, gets her coat clean.

We use this to clean our lab breed dog as a routine shampoo. It has a nice sort of vanilla-ish scent that lasts a week or two pretty well and she doesn't get stinky

We use this to clean our lab breed dog as a routine shampoo. It has a nice sort of vanilla-ish scent that lasts a week or two pretty well and she doesn't get stinky again for about 5 weeks. During the summer she swims a bit so we have to wash her more often. Keeps her ears from getting funky too. Only drawback is she sheds more with this shampoo than her previous one that we really like but got discontinued. Her coat was also more shiny with the older one... but she gets plenty shiny with this one too.
