How Much To Serve Your Dog

As with any treat, this homemade dog birthday cake should be served in moderation. Treats should make up no more than 10 percent of your dog’s daily calories and even less for pups who are overweight or on a veterinarian-recommended diet.

If your dog has health concerns or dietary restrictions, check with your veterinarian before offering new foods. Sudden changes to your dog’s diet can cause digestive upset.

How To Store This Cake

Store leftover cake in the refrigerator and serve within three to four days. You can also freeze slices in a freezer-safe container for up to one month.

For best freshness, keep your homemade dog birthday cake in an airtight dog food storage container.
