The bulb only emits heat about 3 inches so it didn't keep my hedgehog warm at all but on top of the bulb not emitting heat it arrived broken. The top part of the bulb (metal piece that screws into the lamp) looked like it had just been glued together but not very good because as soon as I took it out of the box it was starting to fall apart, I went ahead and tried to screw it into the lamp because it seemed like a pretty easy fix so if it worked I would have kept it and tried to fix it myself. But, it didn't work and the return process seemed to take forever so I ended up just keeping the bulb and the clamp lamp and threw them away. Wasn't worth the money.

  • Wow! Amazing customer service

    By on

After writing about the emitter we ordered arriving broken (most likely in Holiday shipping), I received a new heat emitter (in perfect condition) after a pleasant email asking about my issues and concerns. I did not take the time to send the original back and chalked it up to rough delivery during the holidays and of no fault of Chewy's. I must say how impressed I am with the level of customer service and the wonderful (and humorous) emails I have received from them! Will definitely be doing business with them in the future!

  • Burnt out and destroyed my dome light.

    By on

It was getting pretty cold at night around were I live, so I did a bit of research. I found ceramic dome lights and I read the instructions before I bought it. I made sure my dome light could handle the wattage. As soon as I got it I tried it and in less than 30 minutes my dome light blew out with sparks. It got so hot in less then 30. Minutes. that I couldn't even touch the handle of the dome light to take it away from my terrarium. I'm hoping to get a refund.

  • Great Price & Fast Shipping

I have an Afican Sucata that lives outside and sleeps in a large dog house which has 2 of these heaters controlled by a thermostat. This system works exceptionally well and keeps his house at 70° year round. I would be giving 5 stars but one of the heaters came with damaged threads which cannot be used and due to the price is not worth my time or effort to return.

  • Heating bulb

    By on

I bought these bulbs to keep my furnace room warm, works excellent. I monitor the room with a remote sensor, keeps the on-demand hot water pipes from freezing without having to run the furnace for warmth as I also use heat pumps. Don't need to keep the furnace running now saving on expensive fuel bills. Thanks

  • Toasty warm

Where I live we encounter below 0 degree temps. My 3 pekin ducks let me put them in a xl dog crate at night, they stay on a pond that never freezes all day long, not sure how that happens! But they do get the shivers so that's where I set it up inside the pen and it keeps it very warm for them, it's Awsome!

  • Not used for lizard

I like the heat emitter but I'm going to use it to keep the little room I keep my washing machine in warm so it doesn't freeze during the next cold snap. I bought 2 of them so that should be enough.

  • Love these Heat Emitters!!

I am using these at night to keep my Ducks warm, AND using them myself next to my chair as I sit and work on the computer. I feel like I am sitting in the sun. Have not turned on the heater yet!

  • Best way to give my dragon warmth at night

He's a lot more settled with this over using the red bulb, which seemed to keep him sometimes awake. Thanks for your lower cost than the local pet stores.
