Does the post tobble over? The base doesn't look very wide and my cat usually hobbles the smaller scratching post.. just don't want to come in down on her if it's heavier than the smaller one.

We own the same type of scratcher by SmartCat and no, it doesn't tip over. (I checked the dimensions, and this brand is actually a tiny bit bigger). The base is sturdy, and our cats can stretch up to their full length to use it. We were having a problem with one of our cats using our recliners to scratch, so we have a couple of these types of scratchers around our house. They don't use the top as a perch because they prefer their tree for that purpose.

What is the weight

Is there a refill fiber mat for this scratching post? My cats have completely demolished the one they have but the wooden part is fine. They all loved it to death! It is sturdy and I need to find a new mat for it!

At this time, the manufacturer does not have replacement scratch mats for individual sale.

Does the sisal material come off over time, collecting on the floor at the base of the post?

With continuous scratching, the sisal rope can start to come undone over time. It would also depend one the determination and strength your pet has while scratching.

love the height, funky scratching material

I love how tall this is for my long cat and it's heavy enough that it doesn't tip over easily when both the big and small cat scratch on it. Neither cat is super jazzed about scratching on it. They use it but not vigorously like they do others and I think it's because of the material in place for scratching. It doesn't feel like sisal, it's more like a textured, plastic-y feeling material. My cats use this but not as often as I had hoped and more for just a passing scratch, like they do it because it's there, not because it's super satisfying for them. The top and base are that faux fur sort of fabric, which is also not my favorite for longevity. Overall, the quality of this is really good, especially with how sturdy it is, but my cats have minimal interest in it, I think due to the texture of the scratching material.

Huge, sturdy, easy to assemble

My cats are small, but they really like a heavy, sturdy scratcher. This fits the bill and they can stretch up quite high to scratch. As long as it’s on a flat surface

As long as it’s on a flat surface it doesn’t budge or rock when they scratch on it. Keeps them from scratching my couch on the side where I out this. Now I need to get another for the other side of the couch! I read somewhere that they scratch couchea because couches are sturdy and don’t move when they scratch. The logic seems to work since they are happy to use this heavy duty thing!

This tall scratching post is perfect. My cat can stretch out fully on it while scratching, which she seems to love. She uses it multiple times a day. And she climbs it (hasn’t been able to get past the top piece to get on top though). It is very sturdy, has a heavy base to keep it stable, and the sisal is substantial and is woven very well. This scratching post also looks great and blends in stylishly in my living room. Am really glad I made this purchase. Also, it was easy to assemble.

Greatest birthday present ever

I don't remember which cat this was for have a few with summer birthdays but, if your cats scratch your couch must get this scratching post. I got clever and stapled

I don't remember which cat this was for have a few with summer birthdays but, if your cats scratch your couch must get this scratching post. I got clever and stapled a bunch of strings and toys to the top of it and 3 of the 4 cats can not leave it alone still several months later. Don't waste your money on the smaller ones this one is most definitely worth every penny. PS My Loki has Panther claws and it is still standing and not shredded at all, but will be buying again.

This is heavy duty

I bought 2 for the cats and it arrived and looks just like the picture does!. Heavy. But my cats won’t touch them. Not sure why. I’ve tried even putting cat nip

I bought 2 for the cats and it arrived and looks just like the picture does!. Heavy. But my cats won’t touch them. Not sure why. I’ve tried even putting cat nip on them with no luck. So very durable from the looks of it but none of my 6 cats will go near them. I think could be great for maybe kittens? But although my cats love scratching posts usually they just don’t care for them sadly

Super heavy duty for a good full stretch!

I’m tired of cheap flimsy short scratching posts that tip over and scare the cat. This one is absolutely sturdy and allows for a big full body stretch/scratch session. While it’s not the most attractive cat scratcher it’s definitely probably the best tallest and sturdy one I’ve ever purchased.

First of all, my cat loves it and he has moved from scratching my couch to this post. The post is sturdy and doesn't tip over. Assembly: easy to assemble. The base comes in 2 parts (not a big deal). the top of the pedestal attaches with a screw/bolt through the top, Leaving the head exposed which we thought was weird. We managed to pull the plush/carpet over the bolt head to hide it, but that leaves a small hole in the material.

Our large, strong, fifteen pound rescue cat loves this scratching post. He can stretch full length to the top of it and scratch energetically. He uses it multiple times a day. I tried other scratching pads/posts that he had no interest in. He no longer scratches furniture so we are both happy! Highly recommended!
