Good with modification
The feeder worked much better once I sanded down the edge of the lower lip of the opening on the clear food container. This allowed food pellets to flow more smoothly into the dish. Otherwise, the food pellets tended to hang-up on the lip and not flow into the dish. I used coarse sandpaper wrapped around a wooden dowel as a sanding tool.
Eh, it could be better
The feeder holds a lot of dog food which is exactly what I wanted. The base is wide enough for my medium-sized to comfortably eat. The only thing I don't like is that the opening for the food isn't big enough for the food to drop even if the bowl is empty. I have to jiggle the unit to get the food to drop down. If you're buying this to go out of town overnight or something and expect the food to drop down automatically, this one isn't the one for you.
Not the best
Food doesn’t drop once bowl is empty. I have to keep walking by and shaking it. I even tried smaller fig food and still same results.
On the fence
Purchased to feed cats while away for the weekend. Food does not drop once the bowl is empty...food stays stuck in the top container. Thought if I put a brick atop the food (inside the container) it would force the food to drop but that did not work. Raised the back of the container thinking gravity would take care of the problem...nope. I love the size and shape of these feeders but am still struggling with how to get the food to drop once the cats clear the bowl. Still, I like the feeders, the size, the shape...and will continue to experiment on how to keep the food flowing.
Pet food dispenser
Kitty has to learn to stick his paw up inside to pull more out when it does not fall down by itself. Unfortuantely, my kitty refuses to do so and stays hungry.
Best feeder I've gotten so far
I was kinda afraid to get it due to the fact I expect it to be one of those cheap ones that didn't work well but it's really good. Bigger than I expected but I mean I did get a medium, I'm going on a trip of three weeks and I can't take my cat this is a really good product for that. I love it. Get a small if you have a cat or something lol
Works like a charm
Even with my cat's dainty eating habits, the food consistently falls down into the bowl very nicely. Just what I hoped for.
