When is the u/d wet can food for my dog be available? I need to buy some ASAP
Answer by Deb3Jun 30, 2021
Talked to Hills 6/30/2021 said it should have been on shelves 6/22/2021but isn't. Hills said it was still in manufacturing and could not give me any additional information.

Why is there pork liver in the ingredients of this food if organ meats such as liver are known to be high in purines? I thought dogs with urate stones were supposed to avoid high purine foods.
Answer by ChewyOct 17, 2021
Prescription Diet u/d has controlled levels of high quality, highly digestible protein to help dissolve urate and cystine stones and decreases risk for urate & cystine stone recurrence.

How long are the cans good for when they are not opened?
Answer by ChewyJul 09, 2022
Hill's canned products are guaranteed fresh for 24 months from the date of manufacture until the best before date on the bottom of the can. Provided they have been handled and stored properly. The product should be stored between 50- and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Ideally, products should be kept at room temperature. Storage at temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit for more than four days may change the texture but does not alter the nutritional value of the food. All Hill's Science Diet and most Prescription Diet canned products are good for 5-7 days after opening provided they are covered and stored in the refrigerator at 40 to 45°Fahrenheit (4.4 to 7.2°Celcius).

finally eating!

My 13 lb. fur baby has been on a prescription diet since he had bladder stones removed 3 years ago. He never ate any of them well and I was putting "extras" on top. After being recently hospitalized for pancreatitis they believe brought on by the "extras", they switched him to the Urinary care wet and dry diet. Once he started eating again, he eats this just great compared to the hepatitic formula. His appetite keeps increasing and he is finally putting some meat back on him. I am so grateful for this formula! He was always finicky about food but this one is working great

Good, not great.

Our bichon is on a U/D diet and he will give a hard time eating certain foods. However this seems to be somewhat appealing to him and we only wish it came in additional flavors. The consistency is like gel out of a can unlike the c/d stew that is available, that is a great product! We have enjoyed the chewy customer service and highly recommend ordering through them vs the big box pet store which has horrible customer service in our opinion.

Dog eats it, but crazy expensive for 55lb dog

My american pitt bull was prescribed this food after his bladder stone surgery. He eats it fine (despite a somewhat funky smell). However, I will be switching to the dry food since that is much more cost efficient. A 55lb dog would go through a 45$ case of this wet food in 5-6 days. Where as the same dog goes through the $105 27lb bag of dry in approx 30 days.

Great but expensive

My dog went on a hunger strike with the dry version of this food. Once we switched to wet, she has eaten her entire portion every day. I wish it were less expensive but at least she's healthy!

Ali's grub

Ali seemed to enjoy the food. She needed to be switched though so it was only once and done.
