This product is available in a 5 and 15 pound bag.

My recent bags of LYRIC peanut pieces are dusted with what appears to be salt or some substance. I feed them to both birds and squirrels. I also thought I was getting roasted peanuts (although they do not appear raw) the product description does not mention if they are roasted. I am not searching for a different brand altogether after I discovered squirrels should not eat raw peanuts as it contains an enzyme that depletes trypsin, which the pancreas needs for protein. Eating raw peanuts can cause malnutrition in squirrels leading to bone and muscle wasting.

Better than other peanut pieces offered on sites

We are able to hand feed the chickadees and red breasted nuthatches outside our home. The chickadees do not like the red “husks” on their nut pieces and that’s unavoidable

We are able to hand feed the chickadees and red breasted nuthatches outside our home. The chickadees do not like the red “husks” on their nut pieces and that’s unavoidable with other brands we’ve tried. Lyric has no husks and the birds like this a lot more.

No skins are ideal.

The wild birds love these skinless peanuts and prefer to eat these over the ones with skins. The bags are easy to manage. They leave no mess under the feeder.

How do many birds flock to the woodpecker feeder

The peanuts keep our full family of woodpeckers coming everyday, along with blue jays, titmice and chickadees.

Reproducibly fresh

We have used these for years for our wild birds in the flat feeder. They always smell like they’re totally fresh, and the birds love them.

More variety for all of my critters and birds

I had noticed a lot of corn was being left behind from my normal Squirrel and Critter mix from Kaytee brand. The corn was always the last thing eaten. So, I tried this mix and everyone seemed to like it better, especially the birds. I bought a six section bird feeder with three compartments for food. The original Squirrel and Critter is in one and shelled peanuts pieces in another. This feed goes in the last one and all of the compartments are going down at the same rate now. I just reordered more of everything.
