I inherited 4 additional cats after an unexpected death in the family so that I needed something to hold the additional food and needed it fairly quickly. For some reason these feeders are hard to find in stores in my area. Chewy always comes through in a pinch. This is kinda flimsy and the cap was hard to snap on after filling it. I ended up "squishing" the clear plastic on the container but was able to re-form it back to normal. The lid is very difficult to snap on. That was my only complaint with this. Other than the lid - it's great and 4 fat cats are sad their owner passed away but happy to have food. :)
it doesn't fall down as I think it should. We have five cats, yeah five, and every other day we are shaking the feeder so the food falls and fills the reservoir.
This feeder does great. I just have to tip it occasionally for the food to trickle down into the bowl.
My cats used this no problem until I noticed they started to develop acne under their chin. I asked our vet the cause and he thought it could be a porous water and food dispenser. Bacteria collects on it and the cats develop that rash. We switched to metal/stainless steel bowl and it went away :)
Love it, I do not have to constantly fill it. When I get older I feel like I will not be able to lift It though. Just just advice for those who do not like lifting heavy things.
There is basically another empty compartment under where the food drops, the bottom piece is actually 2 pieces which are extremely hard but able to separate, and it collects food, especially if it has gotten wet. I was cleaning the bowl as normal and got an absolutely awful smell. Then I saw the line where the bottom piece separates in two. I tried to clean it but it just smells awful now. I am just using a bowl for now, I can't allow my dog to eat out of that again.
Bought this in Jun or July 2022 and it's October 2022. We've changed the filter, etc but it no longer works.
There is a picture in the reviews showing how absolutely gross this feeder gets. I have an outdoor covered area for my cats and was using this feeder. I was cleaning it one day and found old impacted food up under the area where the food comes out. Absolutely horrible. I threw it away and purchased one that does not have that type of bowl. You can see all the food that comes out. I wish I had taken a picture too. No need to buy this brand at all!
My cats seem to really like this new feeder - easy to retrieve their dry food and easy to see if it needs to be replenished. Much easier to use than the opaque feeder with smaller opening.
Every once in a while i have to go and scoop more food out with my hand. I use small cat food pellets so i don’t know what food would actually work in this. Could of just gotten a big bowl at this point
