This is the second one I’ve purchased. It is a replacement after 9 years of many dogs (my own and loads of fosters-as well as kitties) going in and out all day long, often blasting out to chase squirrels! This door has stood up to a lot of abuse
This door seems fine, except for the "security" cover. Once in place, it is secured by a plastic latch that you can push to remove the cover. The latch is easily manipulated from the outside. I can break in from our deck in about 10 seconds. I'm looking for a different cover that is more secure. I live in a very low-crime area, but it's creepy how easy it is. We have 2 dog doors in our home, the other has a pin lock and is totally secure. I believe the other dood is an older version of this one, on Chewy I thought I was reordering the same door, but the cover is not the same.
Sorry I didn't purchase this sooner. Great for my 108 lb shepherd. She loves it too.
I was really excited to put this in, as we have 4 large dogs. This was the first one i saw that was big enough for my Pyrenes to fit through. The installation was easy enough however the sides allow a lot of air and bugs through. The bottom closure is fine but there isn’t enough plastic on the sides to seal closed. Also the screw holes at the top allow air through. I put tape over the holes to minimize air leakage. I am really disappointed.
Strong durable doggie door
I work from home so have been using PetSave Pet Doors for many, many years. The quality of the door and the functionality have really changed. I usually buy replacement flaps every few years. Bought one a month ago and it did not seal well. So decided to purchase a whole new door. I might as well just have a hole in my door. The flap does not seal on any of the sides. Air just flows in and even on days with no wind, if the dogs use the door, when they come in, the magnet on the bottom does not grab the flap. I can no longer recommend this product.
Easy to install, seals well, wish the cover was metal and locking. There cover is plastic that you have to pull out to go over a bump in order to remove
While this has been very useful, one must be certain that you have the right kind of door/entry to install what will be a permanent entry/exit "doggy door." I'm lucky to know an excellent handyman/carpenter who cut this into my porch entry storm door, using plexiglass to fill the gaps
I purchased 2 of these for my cats that loved to go outside. They were pretty easy to install and they work great. They are not just for small dogs.
Package came in good condition in just a few days. Read reviews and got some metal bolts. Instructions very clear & easy to follow. Even n cold days, don't loose heat from house as flap works great.
