How long is the cord?

Most heating pads have a switch off timed feature of up to 60 minutes or 2 hours. What is the switch off time for this one? Or does it stay on continuously? I need a heating pad that will not shut off because I am going out of town. The one I have now shuts off every 2 hours

There is not an off/on switch. The pad is always on when plugged in. MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day.

Can I put this inside an outdoor dog house? Will it get to hot?

As long as the space offers ventilation, placing this kitty shelter inside of an outdoor dog house should make a dry, warm oasis from the cold for your cats.

Does this have two doors for feral cats? Is the heat pad run on batteries?

This product has a front door but does not have a rear door. If you’d prefer a shelter with 2 doors, please look at their Outdoor Kitty House and Multi-Kitty A-Frame. The heating pad is not battery operated.

Good price for what I wanted

I bought a much bigger shelter for my TNR cat, however a neighborhood cat that is not well cared for by his family took it over during our first big storm, so decided

I bought a much bigger shelter for my TNR cat, however a neighborhood cat that is not well cared for by his family took it over during our first big storm, so decided to buy another to try to circumvent this issue. My TNR (my main concern)is gracious and uses either as needed. My neighbor cat has now started using this one so my TNR can have her bigger one back. The heating pad stays super warm for the cats. I do add wheat straw for warmth when it gets super cold.

The cat shelter is sturdy and very easy to put together via a zipper. I am using it for a momma cat and 2 kittens that are living under my deck. I am not using the heating pad, instead stuffed it with straw. Here’s a photo after a few days of putting it outside. It is my goal to have the momma cat spayed and the kittens adopted. Now in the process of finding a have-a-heart trap.

He loves it and is in it every day waiting for me to bring his super!!! Grateful to have it for my little buddy. He still won't let me touch him yet, but he loves his house!!

Shelter for feral

I placed this shelter inside of a wooden cat shelter that at the time of purchase was not heated but well insulated. I had a lecto heating pad from K&H I placed

I placed this shelter inside of a wooden cat shelter that at the time of purchase was not heated but well insulated. I had a lecto heating pad from K&H I placed inside of the Thermo Mod Cat shelter along with a self warming heating pad. I do notice the feral who visits me for feedings in the morning and evening using the shelter on these chilly nights and mornings. I did not like the heating pad that came with the Thermo Mod Cat shelter. It was very small and hard even with the sherpa cover.

When it’s frigid out he’s in the back where the heated pad is, and when the temp is warmer he is in the front off the heat pad near the front door. He loves it.

3 wild cats showed up in my yard before Thanksgiving and after watching them for a few minutes I realized they were trying to keep a very young kitten warm. My heart broke, so I bought the heated cat box, the heated water bowl and a food bowl. I covered the house in a couple of tarps and they seem to like it. They are doing great. In the picture you can see the kitten on the right eating. Actually, the kitten is the reason I’ve done all this.

It was VERY hard to zip together. I must have fought 40-50 minutes to get it zipped together completely. But it seems very sound for being kept in a sheltered area. She LOVES it. The front half is not heated, but is soft. The back half is heated. Whether she needs the heat because her arthritis is acting up or because its cold. If she wants a little warmth or not, she can choose. It could be a little water resistant, but meant to get rained on.
