We had a horrible flea infestation after moving to a new house. We tried numerous products including Frontline, Capstar and Dawn baths for our dog to no avail. Frontline was like water and Capstar caused vomiting for one of our cats for a whole day. After one month of Selarid for Darcy and her sister plus Revolution for the pup, the problem was solved and the solution was affordable long term. It’s been about a year and no adverse side effects and still working great.

I appreciate that this product is a lot more affordable than Revolution Plus while still having the same protection. Heartworm disease is incurable and difficult to detect in cats, so being able to keep my cats safe at an affordable cost is so important.

I had been using OTC Frontline Plus for months and thought my two indoor/outdoor cats were protected. Then October weather hit and I quickly came to realize my cats were not only INFESTED with fleas, so was my house! I bathed them both with medicated flea shampoo while waiting for our vet appt, but the amount of eggs, larvae and pupae my cats were shedding (I quarantined them to a bathroom and had them sleep on a white sheet on top of their bedding) was INSANE! And they were so itchy. At the recommendation of the vet, we did a treatment of Selarid+ a Capstar at the vet's office. BOOM! The fleas started dying immediately (thanks to the Capstar) and the shedding of flea detritus has finished completely after less than 24 hours. Both cars seem so much more relaxed and comfortable, and after a huge amount of laundering and vacuuming, my house doesn't feel gross anymore. We will definitely be ditching the Frontline Plus and sticking with Selarid!

Treated and prevented ear mites!

When we moved to a house with a feral cat colony, I started feeding them and doing TNR, but I was worried about my cats getting fleas due to a previous bad experience

When we moved to a house with a feral cat colony, I started feeding them and doing TNR, but I was worried about my cats getting fleas due to a previous bad experience with a feral colony. My cats don't go outsides but sometimes come in contact with the ferals through the screen door. The vet put them on Selarid to prevent any heartworms, fleas, or mites, and it has worked so far. Recently, one of the friendly ferals got attacked and I brought him in to get vet care. Turns out that he had an ear mite infection as well. The vet put him on selarid and had me repeat the dose in two weeks. After that, no more ear mites were found and my cats remain mite free. It's been great knowing that they are protected, and it does help that the price on Chewy is also much better than what my vet clinic offers.

Works

This is much cheaper than the Revolution Plus that I purchased from my vet and works just as good. I recommend this product.

Works well

It has been effective, does not cause sore or bald spots like some other brands I've tried, and is significantly less expensive, too. Thumbs up.
