One of my cats has 2 extra toes on each of his front paws, and his paws are huge. Will he have trouble fishing treats out of the board?

Answer by ChewyJan 13, 2018
Your polydactyl cat will absolutely love playing with this board.

What are the best types of treats to use with this board? I have 4 cats, all of whom are at least 6 years old.

Answer by ChewyJan 15, 2019
It's recommended to use dry treats or another option is to feed your cat while playing, by replacing the treats with your regular dry food. This prevents overfeeding and makes mealtimes more fun and exciting.

Can a declawed cat use this?

Answer by ChewyDec 21, 2018
It may be possible for a declawed cat to use this however, it would be more difficult.

Is this item dishwasher safe? If not, can the globes be removed for hand-cleaning?

Answer by ChewyAug 12, 2018

I needed something for my MENSA cat

Jack is a genius. A real criminal mastermind with a great sense of humor. He started waking me up in the middle of the night just because he got bored. After a month of this, I had to take action, so I started looking for genius level activity centers. I tried the rly plastic toy that treats fall out of. He emptied it in 2 minutes the very first time I tried it. He dismantled the “hidden prey supposedly running in circles under a round nylon fabric” automated toy in the first 5 minutes, then spent another 5 minutes showing the “dead” prey to my incredibly sweet but not MENSA material other cat (she just looked confused). This activity center was exactly what I needed. It’s no longer a challenge for him (honestly, he figured out each section on the first day), but he does enjoy having different activities, and often sits next to it, tapping the top of one of the clear cups while staring intently at me. He was getting too many treats initially, so now I keep a mixture of high value kibble, temptations and various dehydrated treats in a bag to grab different flavors and textures. I need more things for him to do in general, but this one really helped me sleep through the night.

We give this to our kitty just once a month so she doesn't get bored with it. Even though she only sees it once a month she does recognize it when we are getting it ready. We load it up with treats and she will work to get most and come back later for the rest. She had a hard time at first with the "bowl" but has become almost a pro! Worth the investment.

I had a bunch of treats he thinks are high value, and after working to get 1, he decided it was enough. I’ve put minnows and liquid treats, but as soon as he sees it on this board, he doesn’t care. I’ll see if my sisters cats will use it. Also, it’s MUCH bigger than I anticipated.

Smart cat

My cat immediately knew what to do with this new feeding toy. He enjoyed pawing the treats out of the various mazes and quickly figured out how to get his treats

My cat immediately knew what to do with this new feeding toy. He enjoyed pawing the treats out of the various mazes and quickly figured out how to get his treats. I’m not saying he’s the smartest cat in the world, but he’s clever when he can get a treat.

I have 7 cats, and this Food Toy has a feeder port that amuses each of them in some way. One really likes sliding his paws through the wiggly spaces, three like the orbs, one really enjoys the tunnel, and I like to put wet food in the square holes on top. It is also good for getting them to slow down eating. The puzzle feeder is also quite heavy, so they haven't been able to tip it over. I'm pretty happy with this feeder.

not for MY cat

my cat just isn’t super interested in this toy. it might be just too complicated as a first time puzzle/slow feeder. she just ignores it. but that’s just cats

Great Puzzle and Slow Feeder

My cat loves this puzzle so much. My only minor frustration with it is that the clear bowls have a lip that makes it almost impossible for even human hands to fish

My cat loves this puzzle so much. My only minor frustration with it is that the clear bowls have a lip that makes it almost impossible for even human hands to fish out small treats, let alone my cat. The rest of the puzzles on the board are great though

Sturdy activity board

This is a fabulous activity board! I LOVE that it came with instructions and explanations on how to introduce it to your cat. Knowing to step in to help a beginner

This is a fabulous activity board! I LOVE that it came with instructions and explanations on how to introduce it to your cat. Knowing to step in to help a beginner makes all the difference in the world. Our younger cat loves this and we sit beside him, encouraging and praising him as he retrieves his treats. We take it up after he's gotten the treats or seems tired of it and we put it away for a few days occasionally but it's a lasting challenge that has enabled him to go from beginner to intermediate/advanced over the past couple of months. I highly recommend this for cats that are food-motivated. Our other cat isn't treat oriented so the dispenser toys and puzzles like this don't appeal.

Design flaw

The cups have a ridge on the inside that the treats get hung up on so my cat, who is really good at using his paws to pick up things, cannot get the treat out no matter how hard he tries. I put all different kinds of treats in to see if it would make a difference and it doesn’t. After a few times of not being successful he won’t even try now.
