About UltiCare VetRX

UltiCare VetRx Insulin Syringes

Pets are important members of the family, so naturally, you want the very best for them. Optimize care for your pets with diabetes with UltiCare VetRx Insulin Syringes. They help provide comfortable and accurate dosing of insulin to help you better manage your pet’s diabetes. Available in boxes or in the UltiGuard Safe Pack, a dual-purpose system that dispenses new syringes and provides safe disposal for used syringes all in one, so you don’t have to hassle with a separate sharps container.

Choosing the Right Insulin Syringe

Your veterinarian may prescribe U-40 or U-100 insulin for your pet, and it is critical to use the corresponding syringe for proper dosing.

U-40 Insulin Syringes

The “U” refers to units of active insulin, and U-40 insulin has 40 units of insulin per milliliter of liquid. This more soluble type of insulin is designed specifically for cats and dogs, and you must always use a U-40 insulin syringe, which is smaller and has a red cap, to administer it.

U-100 Insulin Syringes

U-100 insulin has 100 units of insulin per liquid milliliter, so it has 2.5 times the insulin as U-40 insulin by volume. If your vet prescribes this type of insulin, it is essential to administer it using U-100 syringes, which are larger and have an orange cap, to ensure proper dosing.

The Quality You Expect

From plunger to tip, UltiCare VetRx insulin syringes are precision engineered to provide superior comfort for your pet.

Human Grade

UltiCare VetRx insulin syringes are human grade, premium quality syringes made for use with U-40 or U-100 insulin.

Superior Comfort

The tri-bevel tip is micro polished and silicone lubricated for easy insertion and effortless glide.

Easy and Accurate Dosing

A clear barrel with bold scale markings and large barrel flanges provides accurate dosing and a good grip for control.

Step-by-Step Guides

UltiCare VetRx offers a suite of diabetes care resources to help you manage your pet’s diabetes with confidence.

Designed With Safety in Mind

The UltiCare VetRx UltiGuard Safe Pack allows you to easily dispense premium quality UltiCare syringes and dispose of them safely once you’re done. Each UltiGuard Safe Pack contains 100 insulin syringes. After using a syringe, simply pop it in the top, then drop and roll it safely out the way. There’s no need to spend more on a separate sharps container with this convenient, affordable solution that helps keep your home and community safe.

An All-In-One Solution

The UltiGuard Safe Pack features an upper and lower chamber. The lower chamber dispenses new insulin syringes, while the upper chamber provides a safe place to discard used ones. After depositing a used syringe in the top, turn the wheel on the side of the container to secure it safely away. Once you’ve used and disposed of all the syringes in the Safe Pack, follow state and local guidelines for proper disposal.

Exactly What I Needed

So grateful that Chewy sells this product. Chewy is always reliable and dependable; shipping is expeditious, as well. I will be ordering more soon.

Good price

Chewy's price for these, the same my vet sold me, is cheaper. My only complaint is after I measure out the insulin, and take my hand off the plunger, it sometimes moves up on its own a little, and I have to remeasure and make sure when I withdraw the syringe from the insulin that I hold the plunger steady so it doesn't move. Once you master that, these are a good buy and I will buy them again.

Unacceptable!

I use these syringes twice daily to administer insulin to my cat. I have no issues drawing the insulin in but the rubber stopper floats back up and expels the insulin out. I have to be very very careful my cat is getting the correct dose; no more nor no less. I wish I could post a video. Extremely disappointed with these syringes and Chewy for selling these. It goes without saying I will be going back to the more costly ones I got from my local pharmacy as they work as intended.

Wow so easy to use and I hate needles

These are so thin and easy to use you don't even know that you have pierced the skin and injected the 3 units of insulin Sid needs twice a day. He does not seem to notice either - I do give him treats as I inject. Only problems are getting all the air out - though a tiny bubble is no big deal and the markings on the syringe are hard to read if the light is at any way poor. And nowhere does it say that they are made overseas. Thank God something is still made here.

could be better

The half unit marks are very helpful, but most of the syringes aren't air tight enough to draw the insulin up. Not sure if it is just a defective batch but I won't buy again

Good deal and work well

These syringes are less expensive than pharmacy syringes and are easy to use. I really like the container for used syringes. My dog does not mind getting her shots at all as the needle is very small and fine. We e been using these for several months. I recommend them.

Dog Insulin syringes

Daisy Mae my little Pomeranian doesn’t object to these syringes. When I tell her it’s time for her shot which is twice daily, she comes right to me for it.

These are no good

These insulin needles are no good I have never had the issue I'm having now with any other brand. No matter how I administer the shot some of the insulin is not being inserted into my boy there is always wet fur.

Last 2 Boxes Defective - Plungers too Loose to to Draw Insulin from Bottle

These were Chewy.com convenient (no trips to, or waiting around at, the pharmacy) but more expensive and a bit flimsy. Also, delivery takes a while, so always make sure to stock a couple extra boxes. Recently, started having problems drawing insulin into the syringes (would have to over-draw, then push out all the air bubbles. Thought maybe it was the insulin vial -- WRONG! Today I could not get several to draw ANY insulin. Opened a new vial (big $ waste), still the same problem. So opened my oldest back-up box of syringes, and they worked. Do not know if Chewy switched suppliers/manufacturers, but I am angry and disappointed.

Perfect for fur babies

.5 calibrations and shorter needles are so much better for our cats. After a few years of chasing down hit-and-miss Rxs via CVS, this is a gift and another plus for Chewy/Chewy pharmacy
