Measure your dog's front paw to ensure a comfortable fitting. Place the paw on a piece of paper and press down on the top, mimicking how the paw spreads when the dog's walking. Mark the left and the right side on the paper and measure the distance between the marks. Compare this to the boot sizes below. The width of the paw should be smaller than the boot size because the boot won't stretch. If your pup is between sizes, add a Doggie Sock.
We purchased these for our standard poodle puppy so he could play in the snow without getting tender paws. After initially walking around like a goofy dog (it was hilarious watching him get used to them), he wore them for hours and they did not fall off. One of the secrets to success in getting your dog to wear booties is a fun distraction. For example, if you put them on your dog at home, s/he'll probably focus all of his/her energy on taking them off. No more limping in the snow!
on Feb 18, 2018
Walks in the snow have been curtailed because our dog has been getting ice balls between his toes ( he has hairy feet which attract snow and ice!) so we bought these. Online chat explained how to choose the right ones for him. When we are getting ready to go out, he doesn't like them for the first minute or two after he gets them on but once we set off he forgets all about them.. They seem very tough - a little stiff even, as others have mentioned - which is probably necessary particularly given the fairly rough paths we walk him on.
These stay on!!!

These boots are easy to put on, and stay on!! I have not had boots so far that do this so honestly I am impressed!! The only down side to them is that my dog scuffs the top so there is a lot of wear on the tops. I only put boots on my dogs front feet as his pads get raw with New England salt in the winter. The front and back boots are the same shape from what I can see, so for me I feel like I got 2 sets any how. I get a lot of comments on them with other dog walkers being fascinated that they are on and stay on and I always recommend these boots to all!!

My Azul will be 14 on April 20! She has been with me since she was 6 weeks old & is my closest friend & companion. It has been breaking my heart to see her struggle not to slip & fall on tile floors as well as being unable to jump up on the bed or get sufficient traction to use a ramp. Well, Santa brought her these boots which she loves. I think she understands that they help & has been smiling wide ever since I put them on her. I only use the back feet so I have an extra pair! She's also proud to use the ramp bought here on Chewy
Good for cold and salt, not super durable
on Jan 16, 2018
We had a bunch of single digit and subzero days and purchased these boots so our dog, who has a thin single coat of fur, could be outside for more than a few minutes at a time. They fit well, and keep the cold and salt out, but I've noticed the rubberized bottom starting to rip after about a week wearing them for outdoor trips and play about ~30-45 minutes a day.
My dog weighs about 30 pounds and wears the extra small boots. I would imagine that any active dog would also notice tearing on the bottom of the boots. I think an older or less active dog who is miserable in the snow would do well with these.
worth every penny

Love these booties for my Retriever. She has hip dysplasia and arthritis in her hips and slipped on the hard wood floors in our home. She was always tentative when approaching the hard wood and tried to avoid it. Now she goes everywhere confidently. The booties fit perfectly and they were worth every penny. They do not slip and she loves them.
Awesome! Happy Golden.

Ultra Paws dog boots stay on and don't twist.Easy to put on and take off. There is a side seam if your dog has dew claws you can put the dew claw on the outside of the boot.My Golden has larger front paws then the back however, boots fit all four paws without coming off.Boots are true to size.Anyone saying they come off did not get the correct size.
Best Boots! A must have!
on Jan 14, 2018
Both of our small dogs wear these boots. The boots are durable, comfortable, and they STAY ON! Only once in two years has one of our dogs "blown a boot", and that's because it was not put on properly. The minute the temps dip below 10 degrees, the dogs wear these boots. Yes, it take maybe 5 extra minutes to put the four boots on both of them, but their feet don't freeze, and they can stay out 10 minutes longer even in below zero weather. (And yes, they wear heavy coats as well) The dogs have also worn the boots in hot weather if they have to walk on hot tarmac. We feel that these boots are a must have.

I could not be more pleased with these boots! They stay on as promised and my little dog has no difficulty on what have been the coldest days in years here in New England. I was hoping they would do as promised, but these boots exceeded my expectations with the double velcro strap and the inner rubber pads to keep the feet from slipping out. These are a must in any cold weather climate.
Puppy Dog Booties

When these booties arrived, I was so excited. Upon trying to get them on Cash’s little feet, they were so stiff and inflexible that neither my trying to loosen them up, and Cash trying to walk in them, was futile.
Poor Cash couldn’t make the booties adjust or loosen up. They were a waste of money for us.
