Help keep your furry friend calm during stressful times with Vetoquinol Zylkene Behavior Support Capsules Small Dog & Cat Supplement 75 mg. The non-drowsy formula uses alpha-casozepine, a natural ingredient found in cow’s milk, to help balance the stress reactions of dogs and cats safely and with no tranquilizing or sedating effects. Milk-sourced alpha-casozepine is known to promote relaxation in babies, and it works in a similar way for your pet, giving him a sense of comfort and contentment to help him cope with stress or adapt to new situations. It’s perfect for most pet stressors like loud noises, visits to the vet or groomer, as well as unfamiliar people and places. Plus, it’s free of lactose and preservatives, making it ideal for sensitive tummies.

Most commercial pet foods include baseline vitamins and nutrients, but some may not have the adequate amount to suit your pet’s exact health needs. Like in humans, vitamins and supplements can help support your pet’s long-term health, regulating everything from digestion to muscle growth. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best vitamins and supplements for your furry friend.
It is recommended to give the suggested dosage based off your pet’s weight. Please refer to the Feeding Instructions tab and consult with your veterinarian for more information.

I relocated from Pennsylvania to Georgia with my cat. We were driving 13 hours. I gave her the recommended dose a half hour before we hit the road. She was up for the first half hour and slept most of the 13 hour drive, with the exception of the last hour. She was quiet all the time that she was awake. It kept her very calm. No side effects. I would highly recommend this for anyone considering using this product. She has to go to the vet this week and I’m going to use a smaller dosage for the car ride to the vet as well.
I had high hopes for this. We have a sixteen year old miniature schnauzer who has entered the more advanced stages of dementia and as a result experiences anxiety at night. Unfortunately this supplement made him behave like he was on a stimulant. He raced around the house and ran into things, his eyesight is getting bad too, and was up all night. The second day we only gave him half the recommended dose, and the same thing happened. I wanted to avoid giving him drugs from the vet, but it looks like we will have to take that step.
On a weekend I called Chewy and spoke with their Vet about behavior my formerly sweet Jack Russell had begun with his playmate canines. She recommended Zylkene, with a grain of skepticism I ordered that same day. After a week the nipping head butting over aggressive play destructive energy bursts even potty in the house diminished by 75%. Now he loves to learn sits long enough to take part in short training sessions even his play has calmed. I am so grateful for this product and the Vet at Chewy whose advice saved us expensive Vet visits. This is so worth a try Sam who at heart is a loving boy deserves to be happy as his playmates in the home when we feared at times not being able to keep him, once again Chewy delivers in the truest sense. Thanks all around for his product!
One of our cats gets stressed easily with any changes in the home, or the presence of stray cats outside. He will lash out at our other cats or had sprayed a couple times in our home. I open one capsule and put it onto his wet food everyday in the morning and it seems to be helping balance him out. There’s been less aggression and he hasn’t sprayed, so fingers crossed!
Our cat has been peeing all over the house ever since we got our new kitten. We've done all of the medical workups and it is definitely behavioral. A friend, who is a vet tech, recommended this product and she has not peed out of her litter box since starting it! It is the wonder drug!
I have a cat that is a diva by day and a gremlin by night.... Got hyper moments that made her look like she was seeing purple elephants! I got the new litter robot so the bathroom situation changed and in all honesty, she was stressing me and her fur-siblings out. I used to work at a vet clinic when this product became available so knew the product and thought I'd give it a try for my crazy cat to help with any anxiety (along with the feliway diffuser already in use). I gave 4 out of 5 stars because any change is quite subtle, but I think it has been helping her. She hasn't had the psychotic looking moments and acts like a regular 3 yr old cat. I wouldn't recommend this product for anxiety inducing events for pets like thunderstorms or separation anxiety. I would recommend for situations where change is happening in the household: rearranging layout, house guests, new baby, new pet, etc. It is a supporting supplement rather than a treatment for anything.
i have a shelter cat who has some big fears we're working through and these little pills help her a lot. i shake it up in a puzzle feeder with her dry food in the morning and she has been much happier since starting them. she's more confident, affectionate, and has been better with over-grooming to boot! by all means it has not solved every issue ever, but this is a very helpful tool for her! i plan on keeping her on it for the foreseeable future.
Our vet recommended Zylkene for my 10-year-old dog. Rudy developed separation anxiety. He was attacking us as we were leaving the house. He would lunge at us barking growling and biting. Some days he would jump up and attack us if we walked by the chair he was napping on. The behavior was very disturbing to my husband and me. Rudy is a lot calmer and has stopped acting as upset when we leave. I love a product that is drug free and works without side effects.
My pup is virtually blind having lost an eye and has advanced and inoperable cataracts in the other. As his vision has decreased his anxiety has begun to increase. We are trying a low dose of Zylkene because the other anti-anxiety chew that worked for him was just too hard to have him take. He started with the dose for a medium dog, but it was too much. He was very lethargic. We are finding the small dog dose just right, although he is a picky eater so feeding it with a meal is tricky when he chooses not to eat. However, his appetite is getting better on Zylkene. It is worth a try!
It didn't make noticable difference in my cat's anxiety, sadly.
