On average, Zylkene will take effect in 1-2 hrs. Keep in mind that the age, sex, and basal metabolism will affect the onset time. These same factors will also influence how long it lasts as well.

I had high hopes for this after reading the reviews, but sadly I didn’t notice any difference. I was able to get my two boys to eat it by mixing it into a Churu wet treat. I tried it for several days, but after seeing no change in the bullying behavior, I stopped giving it to them and decided to do more research. For background, I have eight indoor only cats: three boys and five girls. Only two of the boys are bullies, and they have specific victims they go after when they’re feeling spunky. We haven’t had any serious injuries, just a lot of chasing through the house and some “skibbity smacks.” All of my cats are rescues, and I raised them all. I have plenty of 6ft cat trees, a One Fast Cat wheel, all the newest cat toys, water fountains, automatic food dispensers, and litter boxes in several rooms. There are window perches and wall climbers too. I’ve given my babies everything. I just want them to feel safe and loved, so when my two little guys start acting up, I feel terrible. My next step will be a vet visit, and I’m hoping they can help. Rehoming is not an option. These are my children.

She really freaks out with storms, and fireworks, it she also is afraid of any loud noises, even yelling. She will hear something loud on the tv, and runs to hide. This has been such a lifesaver for moving and adjusting cats to a new environment. I told my vet that I didn't feel comfortable giving them gabapentin daily and this is a great alternative. It doesn't make my cat drowsy or spaced out, plus I don't have to worry about going to the vet for refills.

Zylkene has helped him feel less anxious, less clingy with me and car rides are much easier as well. I highly recommend it over the Gabapentin my vet had Rx’ed. Joey is more chill and relaxed without the sedative side effects

My daughter has great luck giving her cat this for helping curtail urinating outside the litter box. When I gave the first treatment to my cat, she had persistent vomiting (10 times in 12 hours.) Nothing else (diet) was changed, and she was fine the next morning. I'm trying puppy training pads near the litter box, whch she will use on occasion. She also uses the litter box on occasion. I have two boxes in different locations, and they're scooped AM and PM. I also have Feliway in the area. Any other ideas? (Am working with her vet as well.)

This has helped two of my cats. They act more calm when I give it to them. The only downside is that the capsule is too big to give a cat and I don't think they would eat it mixed in their food since it has a taste. I've been emptying each capsule into two of the size 3 capsules and placing it in their wet food. They eat the capsule and it seems to be enough for my two small cats.

I purchased this to be able to take my cat to the groomer. Her 1st visit was not good. She fought and bit and broke a few claws when being blow dried. I didn’t want to sedate her. The droopiness of drugging her to be shaved seasonally made me uncomfortable. This was a very happy solution. She was docile, but capable of standing. My groomer was so pleased, she also asked what I used. It really felt like a miracle.

Zyklene helped my anxious kitty after we added a new kitten to the family. She is also taking gabapentin and Fluoxetine, bit the Zylkene seems to have a fast and noticeable effect. She's so much more relaxed and playful, and her litter box accidents have nearly stopped. She's a very picky eater (usually won't eat any supplements, even in her favorite wet food), but she eats the Zylkene with no problem. I just make sure to stir it in really really well. It's worth a try if you are considering it, especially in combination with anti anxiety medications.
