For my cat biting his tail
By Cathie on Mar 27, 2021
My cat injured his tail somehow, no visible signs of injury but some swelling at the base of the tail. He is an inside/outside cat. He started biting and clawing his own tail hurting himself. He was on pain meds for 6 days that helped but they are expensive and the vet recommended this supplement for behavior and have been giving it to him for 2 weeks now. It has helped quite a bit, but still have to give him it 2 times a day. It is a capsule in which my husband put butter on the end of his finger and the capsule sticks to it and has been able to get it down his throat. I mix it in a bit of cream and syringe it down his throat. It makes him tired and he sleeps more which is good until My cat injured his tail somehow, no visible signs of injury but some swelling at the base of the tail. He is an inside/outside cat. Helps a bit but not completely
By Annie on Apr 7, 2021
Vet prescribed this for our cat chewing on herself, causing sores on her belly. It took a long time and a couple of bottles to see any change but finally she did let up. But not completely. After stopping the Med because we couldn’t see the best results we were looking for, she only intermittently chewed on herself. Recently she started resuming the behavior in an aggressive way. We gave her the caps again but it doesn’t completely curtail the behavior. Now that the bottle is empty, we won’t resume. We had to open the capsule and sprinkle on her food and she wasn’t happy about the taste. These are very expensive for not much benefit—for our purposes. I think it’s working
By Mrkittymama on Apr 3, 2021
I had to give this a try as one of my rescue cats has recently became extremely anxious. She may have been abused before she showed up in our back yard years ago and I worked hard to build a trusting relationship and she seemed like she got better in trust over time and was good till recently, now she is always alert of everything around her and was hiding under my bed all day and it concerned me. I also have an elderly cat that has recently become very vocal which could just be that old cats do this so I give the zylkene to her and the first mentioned cat. The first cat seems to be mildly better when she is on this, she will become sleepy while on it and she seems to be happy to be able to sleep I had to give this a try as one of my rescue cats has recently became extremely anxious. The first cat seems to be mildly better when she is on this, she will become sleepy while on it and she seems to be happy to be able to sleep without fear and anxiety, she will sleep with her belly up which is a sign of trust and she appears happy and purrs when she is on this, if I forget to give her a dose, her purring stops and she gets tense again. The older cat also sleeps when she ingests it and her constant vocalization seems to stop too. So as far as treating the anxiety, I cannot 100% say, but I do believe it makes them relaxed and sleepy. And cats need sleep just like people. I wish it wasn’t as expensive as it is because with two cats getting it I end up spending $60 a month on this. 75mg capsules, two per day equals 60 pills per month. I just wish I knew the cause of the cats newly acquired fear that had disappeared and has come back. She only trusts me and is terrified of my wife, but I spent many many hours building her trust. I say try this product for your pets anxiety, because anxiety is a terrible affliction and if it does help them a little bit I say that is better than nothing. I will continue to purchase this product but may only give it when I feel they really need it, I don’t like to keep pets on medication permanently. … more

This works
By Sassy on Mar 14, 2021
This stuff truly works. Our vet recommended this for our cat, who is territorial and jumpy. With this, she is much more calm and relaxed, even slightly less territorial. Sometimes I think she's been behaving so well, and maybe she doesn't need this very pricey medicine anymore! Then I take her off it, and suddenly she's back to peeing in doorways and bullying her sister. We also feed this to the sister for a week before we know we'll be going out of town or if people come to stay, as she's very confident around us, but is terrified of new people. I think it takes some days to build up in their systems, but then we have much happier kitties. Obviously I'm not stoked about the price... but this This stuff truly works. Love This Product
By Roadie on Apr 8, 2021
This product was absolutely perfect for calming the kitten that we rescued! She was over grooming due to stress of being brought indoors after we found her, then taken for vaccinations, then taken to be spayed and then we moved! We opened the capsule and mixed the powder into wet food, she then began to be a little less scared and a little more social and has stopped over grooming.

Helps my cats get along
By BriG on Mar 4, 2021
Let me start by saying I have 2 cats who don't get along. I have one who wants to be friends and one who hisses and slaps at the other when she walks by (no damage, just aggression). I've tried a number of products to help with this. The Jackson Galaxy oils (LOL, not helpful), anxiety treats, feliway, time, and more. The Zylkene is the only one that worked for us. I give two pills to my anxious/cranky cat daily, and she's like a different cat. Happy, chatty, and just generally pleasant. I've even found the two cats "accidentally" snuggling while she was on this medication! A few weeks ago we were running low, but our autoship was due relatively soon, so I didn't go out of my way to order Let me start by saying I have 2 cats who don't get along. We reduced cranky cat's dosage from 2 pills a day to 1, and then stopped altogether for several days before the autoship came. The change was drastic! She was hissing, smacking, and generally crankier than she is when she's on these meds. As soon as she was back on the meds, she was a happy girl once again! 100% would recommend. I also love that these are capsules, because I don't have to try to pill her (we suck at that). I just pop two open, sprinkle it over some wet food or plain yogurt, and mix it up. She has discovered many a medication crushed up in her food and refuses to eat it. This - no problem! Goes right down. I can't speak for all pets, but I can say this has made a huge difference in our household. We have a happy, relaxed cat and I will be a customer of Zylkene for a long time to come! … more

Takes a while to work
By Pepper on Mar 26, 2021
I was advised by my vet it would take a month to see if this works for a little anxiety. It did take that long before I noticed a subtle difference. My main complaint about this medicine is the cost. I think it is outrageous at about $1.00 a day. I have looked a Calmkene which is much less but there is a slight difference in the main ingredient. Any suggestions???

Great Product
By HarpersMom on Feb 21, 2021
I have a 3 year old Miniature Long Hair Dachshund who was abused and neglected. She has extreme anxiety about almost everything and needed some help. My vet recommended Zylkene to help with anxiety and it’s been nothing short of miraculous. My girl is much happier and this supplement doesn’t wipe her out or make her seem “drugged”. I’m so happy for her. She’s able to relax and enjoy life. YAY!!!

Anxious pet? Not anymore!
By Heather on Jan 11, 2021
When my vet recommended Zylkene for one of my cats, I was extremely skeptical. After using it? It worked so well, now I have my 3 senior cats on it daily. Does your cat get aggressive with others at feeding times? They'll share or swap bowls now. Cat pee in your laundry basket cause you were gone all day? Not anymore. There is another brand of knockoff Zylkene online, and it doesn't work at all. I have 8 cats, 3 get this once daily. It is worth the price.
