Look for the Signs

Animals can't tell us when they feel upset, but they can show us in many different ways. Keep an eye on them and look for the telltale signs that they might be distressed. These include sleep pattern changes, more or less social interaction with people or animals, reduced play, hiding, weight loss or gain, withdrawal, barking and howling incessantly or more than usual, repetitive and excessive licking or over-grooming, house soiling, or trying to run away.

Just Mix and Serve for Gentle Relief

Zylkene is easy to administer to your pet whenever you're expecting an event like upcoming holidays, visits or vet trips. It comes in capsule form, and you can give it whole or break it open to mix with meals or treats. You only need to give it once daily, starting a few days before the event to bring calming relief.

A Safe Alternative to Sedatives

This supplement is ideal for pet parents who are looking for an alternative to overpowering medications. Zylkene won't cause sedation or drowsiness or cause your pets to be less alert. The main ingredient is a natural, bovine-sourced milk protein called casein. It's the same protein found in mother's milk that has a soothing effect on pups and kitties.

OK, so I knew in my heart these pills couldn't do too much...it's a casein supplement that is supposed to 'calm' the animal. OK, but also not a drug. I'm not 'drugging' the cat. which was a BIG selling point. Problem is...it's a capsule. Behaviorally, the cat was already a 'bitter pill', trying to get him to eat a real bitter pill was a NO GO. So...had to buy wet food to disguise the powder from the capsule. Used for handful of nights. Think he slept a little better with wet food in his belly...but would wake and be right back to same old same old.

  • Finally, we found the answer!

Our indoor cat was over grooming for two years. We have gone through every food change, eliminating stuff from the home and all the tests the vet could think of. He was in great health but wouldn't stop licking and eventually pulling his fur out. Within 10 days of starting the Zylkene he has stopped! We plan on doing another month or two and cut down on the dosage gradually to see if it broke the habit or if he will need it longer term. I'm so happy we finally found the answer!

  • Fivul did well on this supplement

    By on

We were set to make a 12 hour drive with the pet who, normally, becomes very upset during even short times in the vehicle. With this supplement Fivul just meowed a few times, and was restful for the remainder of the trip (I found that Zylkene has its highest efficacy if you begin giving it to the animal 3 days before travel) Also, during the trip the animal was not really hungry which helped to speed our trip along.

We have a 3 year old male cat. My daughter brought home male and female siblings, 1 year old to live her for a while. The male made himself right at home and became fast playmates with our male cat. The female stays up in my duaghter's room and comes out for the litter box and to eat. She is very skittish and startles at the slightest thing. She hisses at the males when they try to play with her or groom her. She wasn't eating very much and instead would sniff the food, scratch the floor, and walk away. We were concerned because we did not think she was eating enough. For the past 9 days we gave her one pill mashed into her wet food. She is now much more relaxed, eating at every meal We have a 3 year old male cat. Now I am just wondering if I have to be giving her this forever to maintain this behavior. … more

  • SEEMS to be working!

    By on

After 3 months, there is a noticeable improvement in my cat's coat. The bare spots are filling in and there no longer is any skin showing through. Wish I had tried this before the Feliway pheromones, which were a complete waste of time and money.

  • Not sure it works

I'll be honest with my review. This medication was prescribed by my cat's veterinarian because he was suffering from crystals in his urine. Apparently this could be a cause of stress among other things. The stress could be a result of our new puppy, a five year old running around like crazy, and everything else that can stress a cat out. But to be perfectly honest since he has started taking this medication I haven't noticed a change in his demure. He is still skittish, likes to be by himself, only allows me to pet him, and still scratches furniture. I will continue to give this medication a try until the end of this month, but if I don't see any changes I will need to discuss it with the vet I'll be honest with my review. • Stress Reducer!

My cat has an anxiety disorder and chewed constantly. Since my vet recommended Zyklene he is a different cat. No chewing. No bare spots. It's wonderful to have him be a happier little guy. We've struggled for 4 years with steroids and anti anxiety drugs. He's been on Zyklene for six weeks and every day he's better and better. What a Duffy!

  • Work wonders for us

Originally prescribed by our vet to stop our cat from over grooming and pulling out her hair. The first couple of weeks were iffy but now she's a whole new beast! Her hair is growing back and she's become much more sociable. Highly recommend.

My 6 year old orange tabby is grumpy and aggressive when people he doesn't know comes to the house. I called the vet about the issue and she recommended this. Buy it. It works. Keeps him calm but not loopy!

  • Zylkene 75 mg

I have a rescued feral male cat. He was rescued in December after living his first two years of life outside. He is timid and easily frightened by strangers and loud noises. We quickly found when we had company, within hours Chip was unable to urinate. After two expensive trips to the vet, he suggested we try these capsules, sprinkled over his food. They work wonderfully!! When we will have company, repairmen or anything that might make Chip stressed I give him a capsule, it relaxes him and no more lack of being able to urinate issues. I love that this is not a "drug" And while he's relaxed, he doesn't act medicated.
