What is the difference between Virbac's 'Tartar Control' and 'Enzymatic' toothpastes?

This C.E.T. Tartar Control Toothpaste is designed for pets who are rapid plaque formers and will be more abrasive. The Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Toothpaste will inhibit plaque however it will be less abrasive.

Is this toothpaste a clearish color or a white or brown color? I've had and used this in the past and what to make sure it's still the same clearish color I recall.

The C.E.T. Toothpaste Beef Flavoring is a clear to yellow viscous translucent gel.

Is it harmful to use the toothpaste after its expiration date?

Virbac does not have any safety or efficacy studies on the product post-expiration. Due to this, Virbac is unable to recommend continued use of the product once expired.

Eats her own poop but she hated this toothpaste

My Golden will eat anything -- except this toothpaste. We've been using Petrodex peanut flavor with no trouble for three years, and I figured, hey, she doesn't care

My Golden will eat anything -- except this toothpaste. We've been using Petrodex peanut flavor with no trouble for three years, and I figured, hey, she doesn't care what flavor we use, right? Let's try the fancy toothpaste. Nope! She jumped up, growled and shook her head for several minutes with foamy drool coming out of her mouth. I felt bad because she trusted me and I gave her something that really upset her. So, definitely test a small amount of this and see if your dog wants to sniff it or lick it, first. After that reaction, I had to try it. I think the consistency bothered my dog and not the flavor. It doesn't really smell or taste like anything to me. It's a fine powder suspended in a gel and it's an unusual sensation. Maybe this is something dogs can get used to over time, but I'm going back to what we were using before to get better cooperation.

Good for my Shih Tzu

He’s not a fan of having his teeth brushed, but I appreciate that it’s a clear color, so when his hair starts getting long it doesn’t leave an obvious colored mark

He’s not a fan of having his teeth brushed, but I appreciate that it’s a clear color, so when his hair starts getting long it doesn’t leave an obvious colored mark on his face and it washes out easily in a bath. I brush his teeth at bedtime on my bed so sometimes there are toothpaste marks on my comforter when he gives me a hard time. But they wash out very easily.

We started by offering the toothbrush with the toothpaste as a treat, and now I can't brush my own teeth without my dogs running into the bathroom to have their teeth brushed too. The product contains enzymes that help with plaque and debris. We've tried other brands, but this is their fav.

This toothpaste works very well for Marden. I put it on a toy bone with nubs, and he licks/chews to clean his teeth. There's something more effective about the enzyme

This toothpaste works very well for Marden. I put it on a toy bone with nubs, and he licks/chews to clean his teeth. There's something more effective about the enzyme toothpaste that helps with his daily dental routine. He loves the chicken flavored toothpaste. A tube lasts nearly two months. Great product, reasonable price. This one's on auto refill. Chewy delivers prompt and secure.

My 4 year old Chihuahua has perfect teeth due to the everyday use of Virbac enzymatic toothpaste. It is an everynight ritual that she has. She reminds me if don’t remember at a certain time to do it. I’ve attempted to use other types of toothpaste but she wouldn’t let me. So, Virbac,,, don’t stop making this product or you’ll have to answer to my Gracie and it won’t be pretty. Great product!
