Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

  • Even the fat one won't eat it

    By on

We have two cats. Neither have ever been picky before. One in particular we typically have trouble with getting him away from any food. However after we put this new food out yesterday, neither cat wants to be anywhere near the bowl :( Proceed with caution here folks. If your cats already like a different food, maybe just stick with. I read lots of reviews on this brand on other flavors where peoples' cats wouldn't eat it, and I shouldn't have assumed this flavor would be any different. Now I am gonna have to toss this in the garbage which makes me sad to waste food and money.

  • All of our cats love this food

I order special raw frozen for one of our four cats and decided to try this bag on a whim while I was ordering her frozen food. The other 3 cats all eat the same dry kibble I've always fed them and they seem happy. A little of this RawRev spilled in the box it was delievered in and another cat was scrounging for the bits that fell in the cracks of the box. Then I'd find her trying to open the bag for more. A few days later, she now meows for the RawRev when she rarely talks for anything. A third cat had got into the habit of waiting for a turkey breast treat twice a day and when I ran out, I decided to give her some RawRev and she happily accepted it as a substitute treat. The 4th cat is a big "mouser" on our ranch and has all the truly fresh raw food he wants, but he also seems happy when I've pulled out this bag of food, so last night, all 3 were eating it for dinner instead of the food I've been giving them for years. I wasn't exptecting it, but I guess I'll have to buy more! … more

  • Great reception

We just became the owners of a 6 yr old cat. We started right away mixing her old food with this RawRev and she absolutely loves it. So happy it went well because this food looks to be a great choice for a happy, healthy kitty.

  • Not Enough Raw Pieces

    By on

I ordered this food for my 3 cats. At first they liked the food, as they really liked the raw pieces. But now they seem tired of it, as there's not enough raw pieces in it. I stopped ordering it and am trying a different brand.

  • Wonderful low carb count for diabetic cat

Pricey = minus 1 star. I removed most of the freeze dried pieces to run them through my food processor to reduce the size and spread them around in the bag. All my cats get the food to supplement wet food.

  • Both of my cats love this food.

    By on

I have two cats (3yrs old) who can be picky. Both love this food--both the kibble and the freeze-dried parts. One of them studiously snags all the freeze-dried bits that he can see out of the dish first, like they're the marshmallows in Lucky Charms, but he at least does eat the rest of it too. The other just eats it all at once. It's spendy, but they like it.

  • Very strong smell

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I have no doubt that some cats will like this, Bailey is one of those cats that thinks he has to eat treats or nothing, so this is not Chewys fault. It does have a really strong smell and that may be the reason that Bailey would not eat it. I have heard so much about how these diets are good for cats, but alas Bailey says different. I really didn't want to do a review on this as Chewy always makes it right and I feel bad about that. It is just a cat being a cat and we all know how finicky they can be. THank you Chewy for all the wonderful products you have...and thank you for your wonderful customer service.

  • One of my cats loves this, the other only the big pieces.

    By on

I've been switching my cats over to grain free food and treats. My large male Maine Coon loves this. My little black and white female seems to only like the big pieces in it. All in all, it's a success and I would recommend this if you want to give your cats grain free treat.

  • Cats love it

But they love the “drys” anyway. It’s pretty much the same kibble with freeze dried treats in them. Not sure if it’s worth it or if I just buy a big bag of the freeze dried treats and mix it in. But I don’t normally mix in the special treats I give them with their food. I don’t want to give a bad rating because it’s a good product, I most likely won’t buy again and will continue to buy the regular CORE formula.
