Transition Instructions

The best way to transition your pet onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet (starting by mixing 90% old with 10% new and increase new by 10% each day until the bowl is full of only Wellness). Mixing the food will allow your pet to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

When food transition is not an option, there are a few ways to ensure a good transition:

Feed multiple, smaller volume meals. This will decrease the likelihood of over-consumption and provide for a more consistent, firm stool. Add clean warm water to the food to help soften it. Add a digestive aid such a boiled brown rice or sugar-free canned pumpkin.

  • Very strong smell

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I have no doubt that some cats will like this, Bailey is one of those cats that thinks he has to eat treats or nothing, so this is not Chewys fault. It does have a really strong smell and that may be the reason that Bailey would not eat it. I have heard so much about how these diets are good for cats, but alas Bailey says different. I really didn't want to do a review on this as Chewy always makes it right and I feel bad about that. It is just a cat being a cat and we all know how finicky they can be. THank you Chewy for all the wonderful products you have...and thank you for your wonderful customer service.

  • Cats love it

    By on

But they love the “drys” anyway. It’s pretty much the same kibble with freeze dried treats in them. Not sure if it’s worth it or if I just buy a big bag of the freeze dried treats and mix it in. But I don’t normally mix in the special treats I give them with their food. I don’t want to give a bad rating because it’s a good product, I most likely won’t buy again and will continue to buy the regular CORE formula.

  • On the fence...

    By on

I feed my cats Core Wellness Indoor Formula. I thought this could be a treat once in awhile. So, I have one cat that LOVES it & the other could take it or leave it. Personally, I don’t think there are enough freeze dried pieces. Maybe I got a bag that was running low on them or my expectations are too high. Unsure if I’ll be buying again.

  • My Cats Won't Eat This Food

    By on

I have 3 cats and none of them will eat this food. I figured it wasn't a total loss because I could feed it to the strays that I feed twice a day. They won't eat it either! Chewy refunded my money no questions asked. Thank you, Chewy! Best customer service ever.

  • Kitty pleaser

    By on

Like many, our cat is a picky eater. She has always liked Wellness, and normally grazes, eating a bit at a time. With this new RawRev, she ate it right up & was looking for more. Definite winner!

  • So far so good....

    By on

Purchased to feed as a snack or treat. Kitty gobbles it down. He does eat the freeze dried pieces first (he normally doesn't like liver) but eats the kibble as well. The smaller bag and affordable price make it a good option. I wouldn't feed it exclusively, but I like feeding him different foods and this makes it convenient.
