Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

About Advantage II Cat

Help stop the misery of biting fleas with Advantage II. This vet-recommended topical formula works to kill adult fleas as well as flea larvae and eggs, so your cat can focus on you. It only needs to be applied once a month and is for cats and kittens 8 weeks of age or older.

Why Choose Advantage II?

Advantage II is waterproof, fragrance-free and kills fleas directly through contact. That means pesky fleas dont have to bite to perish. It kills fleas within 12 hours of the first application and can protect against further infestation for up to a month. Best of all, with Advantage II, you can stop multiple flea life stages, to effectively break the flea life cycle.

Help Break the Flea Life Cycle

Immature fleas in a pet's environment consist of around 95% of an infestation and can be nearly invisible to the naked eye. That's why Advantage II has two active ingredients that work to stop fleas. The first active ingredient kills adult fleas by targeting their nervous system, while the second works as an insect growth regulator that kills flea eggs and larvae.

Questions & Answers

If this product does not work how long do I have to wait before applying a different product?
Answer by ChewyJun 28, 2017
Under normal conditions this product is effective for a month. However, in cases of severe flea infestation, re-treatment may be necessary earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 14 days for kittens or once every 7 days for small and large cats. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly re-treatment schedule.

Since the fleas do not have to bite my cat to be killed do they have to crawl over the specific application site to be killed?
Answer by ChewySep 07, 2017
This product doesn't require fleas to bite for it to take effect but it must come into contact with the pest.

Is this safe for Nursing cats? If so will it also protect the newborn kittens from fleas?
Answer by ChewyJul 26, 2017
As with any product, it's best to consult your veterinarian before using this product on pregnant or nursing cats.

Helpful as part of flea control measures

Has been effective for basic, monthly flea control on cats. My personal cats get a broader spectrum version that also controls heartworms, but I use this lesser expensive type for some others, including the occasional TNR candidate with a lot of fleas. One big tuxedo boy, who has taken up long term residence in the yard, was so plagued by fleas that he was constantly kicking at himself. He had bare spots with scabs. I started using the appropriate, larger dose size on him and within a few days he was more comfortable. After a few weeks, his hair was filling back in. Now he looks much better and no more kicking at fleas. Unlike some others, the base of this is oily and leaves a residue that takes a day to dissipate, but it's less expensive than one of the other good ones, and more effective than many of the others.

Beaten up and open upon delivery

Great price! Maybe that’s because these are rejects or seconds, because EVERY SINGLE ONE of several boxes was beaten up, partially crushed, WIDE OPEN with stuff falling all over. The foil envelopes were sealed for each tube, but who knows if these are from 2012 or not? Second time I’ve gotten such an order. Probably will simply get from a brick-and-mortar competitor from now on because I don’t need this kind of lackadaisical treatment as a customer.

Disappointed

I have been using this product on my dog and cats for as long as I can remember. The last two purchases I made it hasn't seemed to work at all. Not sure if the ingredients have changed or what the issue is but I was afraid to retreat with another product so I had to purchase the capstar also. The capstar works but it is only a temporary fix and they are right back. Very disappointed in Advantage II and will have to be looking for a different product.

Much of the Same

I think your service is great. No complaints. However my request to have the boxes placed by my door still has not happened. I have to pay someone to carry the boxes up. The kitty litter is very heavy.

Love this product

Works great. One application and the fleas are gone. Been using this product for years. Would not use anything else for my cats. Very easy to use and works very well. Can't say enough about it. Love it. All fleas gone in less than 24 hours.

great price

This was a fantastic deal. I wanted to do the auto ship but now I am worried that getting the 6month supply might have been a mistake because I am worried that my cat may gain weight and exceed the 9 lb. limit

Horrible. Doesn’t work.

This product doesn’t work at all. My cat still has fleas and is still biting like crazy. Because we trusted this product would work, now we have fleas in the house and we have an infant son. Upset to say the least.

Not like it use to be.

I have used this before on dogs and cats. Fleas would be gone the next day after use but for some reason it does not work like that anymore. I have purchased it from Chewy's and from the vet with the same problem. Fleas are as bad as before I used it. I treat the outside usually but failed to do it last year which usually helps.

Works great

I had purchased Frontline, on the recommendation of my vet, for my cats and dog. It did not work. I purchased Advantage as it had worked well in the past. Seems to be working very well. I have not noticed any scratching or seen any fleas.

Recommend!!

Works great on my kitty once a month during Peak Flea season. Chewy made ordering easy with auto ship schedule changing and also modifying order from weight class of cat from large to small as he's getting older & losing wt.
