Yes. Advantage II is waterproof after 24 hours. However, we suggest bathing your cat before applying Advantage II. Just make sure your cat is thoroughly towel-dried before application. If you choose to bathe your cat in between treatments, we recommend use of a general grooming shampoo for pets. Keep in mind that more frequent bathing may keep the product from working the full 30 days.

Advantage II for cats combines two active ingredients:
This combination plays a crucial role in treating and preventing infestations, because:
Advantage II flea prevention is applied to your cat topically, spreading over the skin and hair. It kills fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite your cat to die. With oral flea medications, fleas have to bite your cat and ingest the medication before they are killed.
A single application of Advantage II for cats stops biting fleas for one month. However, if the cat has a severe infestation, retreatment within a month may be necessary. See product label for additional information.
Use Advantage II for cats monthly, year-round to help keep your pet protected from fleas. Even indoor cats need protection against fleas because you or other pets in the household may bring fleas into the home. Fleas in your cat's environment can re-infest your cat.
You can use Advantage II for cats on kittens and cats 8 weeks of age and older.
There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for Advantage II for cats. We recommend the product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.
Advantage II for cats does not kill ticks, but it does effectively break the flea life cycle by killing flea eggs, larvae and adults to help prevent infestation on your pet.
Advantage II for cats kills fleas within 12 hours of application.
Do not have contact or allow children to have contact with the area treated with Advantage II for cats until completely dry.
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.
My cat had an adverse reaction to this product. Perhaps it was a bad lot as I have used this product in the past. This time my cat was hyper grooming and scratching to the extent of massive fur loss as if this was a human interferon product - all over his body. And, the fleas remain!!! I researched and found online negative experiences: Cats have died, gone blind, etc... from this product. I immediately implemented colloidal silver into his water to assist his immune system. Scary. I can only hope he will recover fully. This is worthy of a negative rating.
I was really in need of something to kill fleas off my 3 yr old house kitty who hangs out on my screened porch in FL a lot. Advantage did the trick in one day, it was such a relief seeing her not constantly going after fleas!
Chewy is the most reliable company, I have been ordering for 8 years and every single order has been perfect, affordable, and in a timely manner. This is my favorite company on gods green earth, I wish I could work for them!
The Advantage II product is fine. I have a MAJOR problem with the packing used during shipment. When I received, the package was completely demolished. The packs of Advantage was all in the carton itself.
I have used Advantage for a long time. It works well on my indoor only cat. Easy to apply and only once a month. I put it on him in the morning and it has dried by the next morning.
I have been rotating flea treatments for my 3 cats since none seem to work anymore, it seems fleas have become resistant. I noticed a small improvement for 2-3 days after applying Advantage, then all 3 cats were scratching again like crazy. I am at my wits end and don't know if anything works anymore. I just ordered a different brand, hoping it works better than Advantage. All of them are pretty expensive, I wouldn't mind if one of them only worked. Sigh...
I have been using Advantage I I for many years. It works better than any other flea medicine I have ever tried. I will continue to use it. Rainbow,my cat remains flea free as long as I use it.
i’ve tried using this product on/off for months now. every time i think it’s working and the fleas are finally gone, there’s always re-infestation. i’ve tried baths, treatment, nonstop cleaning, and thought i was finally seeing progress. these stopped working on our cats, so it’s time to keep looking for a solution that’ll actually work to keep the fleas gone and my cat babies comfortable.
This is the first time since 2006 that my dog and cat got fleas. One month ago applied this product. 2 weeks later she still has fleas. So I put another application on her. Still has them. We are going to the doggy doctor tomorrow to get a prescription cat flea medicine. I am out $50.00 on this product plus the $50.00 office visit tomorrow.
I'm a senior, this vial is so tiny I can't open it. Kept reading the instructions, dumb won't be purchasing this again
