How do I hide it from my cat? I put it in his wet food and he will not eat it at all and there is no way of putting it down his throat either..

Answer by AhazlnutroseJul 10, 2025
Perhaps crush it to a powder and put it in a lickable treat

Will this also take care of ringworm

Does it kill the worms or just makes them exit the cats bottom

Answer by ChewyJul 02, 2025
This dewormer (containing praziquantel) is designed to kill and remove tapeworms from cats. The tapeworms are typically digested and not visible in the feces, but the treatment is effective at eliminating the parasite.

Are there any types of ticks this does NOT cover?

Answer by ChewyApr 08, 2025
This treatment is intended for common tapeworms. It does not cover any ticks.

The vet's treatment for tapeworms was not effective for my cat, so I was happy to find these pills with good reviews. I ground up and mixed 1-1/4 pills for my 11-pound 14-year-old cat and he did eat it mixed with some very tasty cat food, although he was suspicious. Just as with the vet's treatment, the only side effect was that he was very itchy all over for several hours. It's now been two weeks with no signs of tapeworms and he seems to have put on a bit of weight.

I should've known better from prior experiences trying to get cats to eat crushed pills in their food but I was hopeful just the same. I'm caring for some strays. I noticed the other day that one had tapeworm. Two of the three I could probably wrangle a pill into them but not easily because I have a hand disability. The other one would definitely shred me if I tried. So, I decided to try the easy route and crush the pill. None of them would eat the food I put it in. Not. A. Single. One. They took a few bites and then looked at me very offended. So there's $20 down the drain and I don't have much to spare because I'm on a fixed income.

My stray cat I took in had a slightly round tummy and I suspected worms. I found a tapeworm section on the ground and she was sitting and adjusting strangely. After giving this pill I believe I found a dead tapeworm in her stool. I would still talk to the vet, because this pill presumably would not work for other worms a cat may have. Such as roundworm which is contagious to humans.

Feral necessity

What can I say besides it worked! Living out in the country, we have 3 outdoor kitties that keep down the mice, gophers, etc. But, given that, they will get worms

I been buying this medicine over the years for my cat because he tends to get worms and I’m not really sure how but needless to say this medicine does the trick and clears them right up for at least 6 months to a year before needing to treat him again. Great dewormer, highly recommended.

I mixed 1.5 tablets in one can each for 3 cats. They took a taste and or sniff and walked away. We left it out for 24 hours and they still refused. They continued to beg. Today I gave food without worm med and they ate. This is totally unacceptable if they won’t eat it. ZMr Gray is a feral we have fed for 4 years who will eat anything and he wouldn’t eat it either. I purchased 2 bottles of it and have 1.5 tablets left. Can I return it?

Tried dissolving in water and mixed w canned food, but none of them would take. Either smaller pill or capsule. I have one unopened box will see if I can return. Other opened but can't use.

This stuff works. It killed the worms. It's completely unflavored and half my cats are jerks and can smell medicine mixed into anything so I had to syringe it into their mouths and it was difficult. If your cat won't take liquid medicine easily, you might want to try a different medicine. If your cat is easy though, this was by far the cheapest option I found.
