How do the treats come out? Does it need batteries

Answer by ChewyJun 30, 2025
This toy does not require batteries. It is an interactive toy where cats can swat the toy around to dispense the treats.

Great idea to have an adjustment for the treats because they're different sizes. My cat, though, was too used to an easy release of the treats and because this is a little harder, he loses concentration on getting the treats out. I think, with time, he will be used to this toy and keep at it until he gets all the treats.

The dispenser is defective. I would have given this ZERO stars if I could have.

Supposedly the dispenser could be adjusted to the size of the treats. It did not. The box itself was damaged; quite possibly it had been sent back already at least

Easy slow feeder for the lazy cats

My boys hoover up dry food between their wet food portions, so they must eat their dry food out of slow feeders. Our laziest cat likes this one the most since he’s

This is a really good treat dispensing toy! My cats were instantly interested, especially my eight year old boy Pepper who will do anything for treats. Funny enough, my orange kitten Comet was less interested, mostly because he doesn't really like eating crunchy treats, but even he came in to investigate for a while. Pepper continued playing with the toy throughout the day until all the treats were eaten, so I'm definitely going to keep using this! I like it better than a different treat dispensing toy I have, which seems to dispense the toys too easily--this one isn't as easy as the cats simply having to push the toy and the treats instantly fall out; rather, they have to push it around a fair bit before winning their prize.. The adjustable difficulty switch on the bottom/side of this one is a really neat feature to also allow for varying treat sizes. The only issue I did have with this is that putting the bottom piece onto it was quite difficult--I had to get my husband's help to put it in place. Even so, I might have to buy another one of these for my rats!

Broke immediately

I have a very food-driven cat and this toy was no match for him. He dragged it up to the kitchen counter, threw it off and it broke into four pieces. He has no remorse

At first, my cats were a little hesitant with this toy—the noise of the treats rattling around when it rocked actually scared them off. I almost thought it wasn’t going to work out. But when we moved it onto the carpet, the sound was much softer, and that seemed to make all the difference. They slowly started approaching it, and before long they were batting it around and figuring out how to get their treats out. Now it’s a fun little enrichment activity for them, and I love that it keeps them entertained while making them “work” for their treats. I’d recommend starting it out on a softer surface if your cats are easily startled, but overall it’s a cute and useful toy once they warm up to it.

My two older cats are addicted to Temptations so thought this dispenser would be a fun activity to slowly mete them out. I guess they are too old (13) to figure it out. They don't really swat at things so they just walk around it looking at the treats inside. I think maybe younger, more playful cats would like it. It doesn’t tip to dispense well on the carpet and it makes a loud rattle noise on the tile. When I walk past it I nudge it and they are thrilled to get a treat with no work.

Our 2 cats usually are more active in the evenings and spend their days sunbathing. This was very cute to watch them try and figure out. It kept their attention for a good little while before they came back to their favorite little spots to cat nap. Goal achieved? Definitely recommend trying it out. Make sure the treats you get a small enough to come out of the hole.
