Outsmarted by a potty pad

Funny story - I almost contacted Chewy to return these because no matter how many of these I tried, the urine was sliding right off them and creating a mess on the floor. I thought I had received defective puppy pads but oh no, it was 100% user error - I had them UPSIDE DOWN! My only defense is I've never used charcoal pads, just blue and white ones where the blue side is to the floor and the white side faces up. Y'all, I am probably the only person who was outsmarted by a charcoal pad, or willing to admit it anyway, but on the slim chance this helps someone else out there: black side facing up, white side to the floor and you will likely find them much more useful, great size, stays in place and the charcoal does seem to help hide urine smells.

This is the only charcoal potty pad I recommend. So here is the deal on charcoal potty pads. They DO absorb odors really well. Better than pretty much any other pad except maybe the scented ones, but everyone in this house is sensitive to scents. Unfortunately, some of the charcoal ones really thin, and the urine can start to pool--and run off--before it is fully absorbed. Not with these, however! We live in an old house that has slanted floors. Some people report their dogs not seeing the pad as well/not lining up quite right because they are dark in color. I do not know if it is that or the slanted floors in my house, but these absorb more liquids more quickly. I would recommend getting one of the washable/reusable pads, in a slightly large size, to put under just in case. (Maybe everybody else´s puppy has good aim, but ours seems to squat near the edges, not in the middle!) By the way--i get it why the charcoal layer is on top. It traps/blocks/absorbs the odors. I was going to write the company and suggest that it is one of the lower layers, with more white absorbant material on top, but that might not work as well to control odor. These are also great to line the area where the kitchen garbage, recycling and compost are located!

She won’t use the box but goes on these. She can go 4-5 times on one. I honestly believe there is less odor with them and they size is excellent

Love the charcoal pads!

My miniature is Josie was pad trained from her breeder since she is so small, going outside in below zero weather isn’t an option for her. I’ve always used the Frisco

I’ve always used the Frisco brand pads & when they came out with the charcoal pads -wow-definitely a winning idea! I do like the even bigger size but the price has gone up so much(hasn’t everything?)

Frisco's Charcoal training pads

I have ordered the regular pads and wanted to try the charcoal once because I thought it would be better but it is not. Product break's apart as soon as the puppy

I have ordered the regular pads and wanted to try the charcoal once because I thought it would be better but it is not. Product break's apart as soon as the puppy pees on it once. It leaks and it is very slick when wet.The only thing good I can say about it is that it helps with the odor of the urine. Frisco is a good brand but not the charcoal pads they need to make some improvements before I would buy the charcoal once again.

Absorbent. The best pads we've tried so far.

We have a 14-year-old Boston Terrier who is incontinent with back problems and kidney disease. She goes potty more frequently than normal but because of her back problems, she does not go on regular walks. We keep plenty of potty pads around the home. In the past year or so we have gone through a variety of brands and so far, these Activated Charcoal Potty Pads are the BEST! All other brands leak...even when changed out various times a day. We have washable pads that go under the disposable potty pads and even those need to be washed frequently because the other brand disposable potty pads leak. But these charcoal pads are super absorbent, plus there's no odor and we can keep them out longer which allows us to get the maximum benefit from each pad. Overall, these charcoal potty pads are a lifesaver! Highly recommended.

I love Frisco they are more expensive but after trying so many others that leak its worth it best to buy the biggest pads ..I've tried Frisco environmentally better

I love Frisco they are more expensive but after trying so many others that leak its worth it best to buy the biggest pads ..I've tried Frisco environmentally better ah those yellow and they leak sorry I tried..so charcoal was next step as they few dollars cheaper ok tried that with yellow pads but these pads are good quality ..the best reason not give 5 stats is they are black ..it's hard to "SEE"" THE PEE so you don't step on it..but hey if this my only complaint I'm all in now crazy as it sounds these pads fluctuate in price everyday apparently this company is on stock market . Wow all these years I never knew ha ha but Frisco best pads hands down big pads box 75 worth it better than AKC ..GLAD..HARTZ . I say try it you won't ever look for another

My New Go To for Training Pads

Super absorbent, odor eliminating, great size! I will pay the lil extra for this product because it works much better than the other charcoal pad I was using.

My dogs love the size of these...perfect for when I leave my apartment for a few hours. They do their business and clean-up is easy. I noticed a big difference with the odors....GREAT PRODUCT!

They are larger and reduce the likelihood of going outside the pad. Then there is the distinct ADVANTAGE of NO ODOR even if left sitting. I really like them.
