Give your favorite feline the pleasure of comfortable, stress-free dining with the Dr. Catsby's Whisker Relief Cat Bowl. Eating from a traditional high-sided bowl can result in Whisker Fatique–a paw-sitively painful condition caused when a cat is forced to pull back his whiskers for an extended period of time to keep them from contacting the bowl’s edges. This sleek, stylish bowl is made from food-grade, BPA-free stainless steel with a unique shallow shape that was developed by measuring a large sampling of cats’ whiskers and faces in order to determine its purr-fect proportions. It also features a side cut-out to make picking it up and setting it down on the included silicone, no-skid mat a spill-free breeze.

What is whisker fatigue?
Whiskers are wonderful things. They can help cats detect changes in the air current, so they can navigate their way through narrow openings and dark spaces. But that also means we can be subject to an affliction known as “whisker fatigue.”
When their whiskers are forced into close contact with the sides of our bowls, it can get extremely painful. And that’s why cats don’t always finish their food. Not necessarily because it’s the wrong food – but because it’s the wrong bowl.
The signs of whisker fatigue:
- Leaving food in the bowl, but is still hungry.
- Pulling food out of the bowl with their mouth or paw to eat off the floor.
- Leaving a mess behind on the floor.
- Only eating form the center of the bowl.
- Acting aggressive toward other animals in the house during mealtime.
- Standing by the bowl before eating for a period of time, pacing around the bowl, or being hesitant to eat, though hungry.
My cat doesn’t have whisker fatigue. Can I still use Dr. Catsby’s bowl?
Dr. Catsby’s bowls are purrrfect for all cats.
My cat is still making a mess with his/her food after trying Dr. Catsby’s. What should I do?
The Dr. Catsby’s bowl is like riding a bike for the first time. At first you may begin on a shaky note, but the more you use it, the more streamlined it becomes. After a few tries, your cat’s meal time should become shipshape and tidy.
Dr. Catsby's bowl works best with premium dry food or soup-like wet foods. Some wet foods that are sticky or clumpy may be better suited for a large flat plate.
What makes this bowl unique?
Designed from a cat’s perspective, these wide but shallow dishes allow us to access our food without pulling back their whiskers. Its clean, simple design is a cinch to wash and will enhance the aesthetic of any home.
Bowl features:
- A wide but shallow dish.
- Easy for cats to access their food without pulling back their whiskers to avoid agonizing contact.
- Clean, simple design is a cinch to wash and will fit in a variety of decors.
- Non-slip mat for stability.
- A stainless steel finish protects against wash-proof bacteria.
- Design & Utility Patent Approved.
What type of metal is the bowl made from?
Dr. Catsby’s Bowl is made from #304 food service grade stainless steel. This is the same grade of stainless steel as used in milk pasteurization, beer brewing, cookware, and eating utensils.
Stainless steel is one of the most common materials found in kitchens today. It's used in everything from appliances to cookware, dishware, flatware, and utensils because it is durable, easy to sanitize, and corrosion resistant to various acids found in meats, milk, fruits and vegetables. Most importantly though, stainless steel is a safe option when it comes to use with food and beverage, as there are no chemicals that can migrate into your food from these products.
Is this bowl BPA free?
Yes! We're proud to say that the grade of stainless steel used makes our bowl BPA free.
What types of food can be used in this bowl?
Dr. Catsby's bowl is recommended for use with dry food or wet food!
Some sticky wet foods may take some time for your pet to adjust to the shape.
Can I use the bowl for water too?
While Dr. Catsby’s bowl is designed for food consumption, it works well for water too. The bowl holds 12 ounces (1.5 cups).
Is this bowl for an indoor or outdoor cat?
This bowl is purrrfectly designed for any cat that is lucky enough to get their paws on it.

LOVE but not for messier cats
By LynL on Feb 7, 2021
We got these bowls after a lot of research on best bowls for whisker fatigue. Our cats didn’t finish their meals in smaller bowls. Our cats love these but our boy is a very messy eater and pushes the food over the sides of these. So we use them for our girl, who is neater, and stick to a wide shallow dish with sides for the boy. But these bowls have definitely resulted in better eating in our house.

tough bowls!
By Kate on Jan 17, 2021
I have about 8 of these bowls that I rotate between the dishwasher and my two cats. They clean up nicely and the curve allows them to get all the food in the bowl easily. The cats sometimes will push the food over the edges but that’s the worst thing about them. The bowls should last for many years and make eating more comfortable for my older cat.

absolutely perfect!
By bluesun on Dec 17, 2020
When I first got my kitten, I went out and got the cheapest glass bowl I could find since he needed to eat somehow. I then noticed over time that he would be eating and the food would push to the sides, thus making him dig in and around trying to eat. I learned about whisker fatigue as well and hoped this product would also help relieve this issue. Shipping was fast and packaging was extremely neat. My cat quickly took to it immediately. This bowl is too easy to clean since the metal bowl is not permanently attached to the silicone bottom and there are no crevices for food to hide in. His meal stays in the middle of the bowl and does not slip, helping my cat enjoy his mealtimes with ease!

A big mess
By kolo on Jan 7, 2021
I was looking for a high-quality bowl for my kitten to use for years (he does not have a problem using other bowls). Surprisingly, it did not work for my kitten at all. He pushed the food out of the bowl and made a mess everywhere. I had to go back to a normal bowl, which is three times cheaper than this and much more useful. The bowl looks good quality though.

Good quality shallow bowls
By raeeeeee on Jan 17, 2021
It took my three cats a few days to accept their new bowls, but now they are eating very well from them. Food stays in the middle of the bowl better than with a standard dish. It hasn't changed how messy they are when they eat dry food, but I like the bowls. And they are dishwasher safe, which is so nice.

Dr. Catsby's Bowl For Whisker Relief
By Zach on Dec 14, 2020
Highly, highly recommend! I’ve been noticing for awhile that my cat, Opal has been having a difficult time eating his food. He’ll shake his head and he’ll eat kind of weird. I had no idea it was the bowl irritating his whiskers! I bought a bowl for his dry food, his wet food, and his water. I fed him out of the bowl tonight and the problem has been solved thanks to these bowls!

A huge game changer
By Crimp on Nov 11, 2020
I did not realize there was such thing called "whisker fatigue." I did not realize how much the cat bowl rims were stressing their time eating food. I was looking for a quality stainless steel bowl for my cats. The last one I brought was horrible as the non-skid rubber at the bottom was smelling so bad no matter what I did and I wanted to replace them with something safe. I've never bought anything in this shape so I wasn't sure how this would work but I gave it a try. I have 4 cats and all 4 cats were pleased with this bowl. One of my senior cat finally started using her jaw to actually "eat" instead of licking (she used to stop eating halfway and leave before). One of my male cats who has shorter nose would always take food off the bowl and eating from floor finally stopped doing that and kept eating from the bowl. All 4 cats also eat faster without keep resting. In the past sometimes it would take up to 15 - 20min for them to finish eating especially senior cats because it had been awkward for them to eat from the traditional bowls. Not anymore! They all finished eating within 10min this evening without hassle. This product is highly recommended! For the health of cats, this is a must-buy! … more

Great Bowls for cats
By Louise on Dec 12, 2020
This bowl is great. It allows my cats to eat without messing with their whiskers and they tend to clean their bowls each meal. It comes with a separate pad so the bowl doesn't slide around. The only thing I don't care for is that there is only one side of bowl that has a cut out at the bottom to pick it up from the counter, so you have to look for it.

Nice cat bowl.
By disneymom on Nov 25, 2020
I got this cat bowl because our cat was taking her wet food out of her other bowl and putting it on the floor to eat. I recently learned that could be due to whisker fatigue. This bowl seems to have helped a lot. She only puts a little bit of her food on the floor now, almost none. She was hesitant to use it the first time but when I was with her to eat she used it easily. This has really helped with the mess. Nice quality bowl.

Whisker relief bowl
By Bernie on Nov 24, 2020
Never realized that Buddy was sending me a message. He would eat his food in the middle of his bowl leaving the outer edges full of food but untouched. Didn’t know that it was literally painful to reach. Now he eats all that I give him. Big success for me and a happy cat
